My venture back into marketing

Affiliate Marketing

Once upon a time, in a land not so far away; long before @rentmoney ventured onto the Hive Blockchain he had a marketing cap on. It was mainly poker sites he marketed but RentMoney also did a little work for a specific cryptocurrency exchange as well. Getting 100-300 new sign ups to a site is what we can comfortably say we pulled on average. The most we gathered under our umbrella was for a new exchange that at the time was just launching. We somehow manage to get 1500 sign ups to that exchange - that was years ago. We had more resources for getting new account sign ups back then. Resources that we no longer have today. There was something intriguing about affiliate marketing that still makes me take notice to this day. When its in a field you like to participate in - it doesn't feel like work. A couple months ago I stumble upon an offer that at the time gave me $180 worth of quality goods for free, with free shipping. I was skeptical so did some research. I come to find out it was a legit offer and not only that it was what I call an unicorn offer. The offer I stumbled on was much better than the advertised sign up offers and better than other affiliate offers for the same product. I signed up strictly out of curiosity and sure enough 180 bucks worth of top quality product arrived at my door.

After snooping around and signing up directly to the main product page it didn't take long for a "refer a friend" offer to flash before my eyes. It was just the standard invite a friend offer. But hold up, I know there are better marketing tools out there for this specific business so I did some poking around. Poke around I did which granted me the same "unicorn" deal getting linked to my account. The deal has since been clawed back after a set number of "new sign ups" but still, I'll call it a win. I haven't dug too deep into it because I am thinking about pushing for a bigger deal but for now I did some experimenting and signed up three others. What did I get for these sign ups? $50 for each one. I managed to earn $150 in a relatively short period of time while at the same time I gave out $390 worth of goods for free. This small feat lit a fire under the affiliate marketing bug inside me. Not long after I stumble upon a site that offers $50 USD for free to those located in the United States and $30 for free for those located in Canada. I did a post about those later two offers that can be found by clicking the following links: USA $50 For Free/ Canada $30 for Free.

If you are a participant in Splinterlands and blog about such on the Hive Blockchain or elsewhere you to are into affiliate marketing and you might not even know it. Sharing your Splinterlands ambassador code is an excellent example and easy step into that world. Here is my Splinterlands ambassador code: https://splinterlands.com/register?ref=rentmoney. Clicking it will give me credit for your sign up at no cost to you. This post is more of a ramble to myself than anything else. I don't got the deals inked that I want with the site I was rambling about at the first of this post so I don't want to mention their names yet. Right now they confined me to one country and I don't got the energy to negotiate a bigger deal. They also clawed back my sign up bonus to $40 instead of the original $50 I was getting. I got a decent amount of things going on at the moment and once I clear some of that up I will circle back to this and see if I can make some headway. The ultimate goal is negotiating a multi country deal that gives completely free products to those signing up under my link. For now this post serves as reminder to my future self to go get that deal done or at least attempt to. Random thought: I am watching the new series known as VISION and I have a theory that I will go over in tomorrows post. Have you ever done any affiliate marketing? If so what has your experience been with such work. My past venture years ago made others some coin but not so much myself. To be fair I am ok with that - I would call that a successful run. But thats enough of my rambling. If you made it this far I tip my hat to you. See you at our next post.
