Breaking the 200K Hive Power barrier

Today I got to the point of breaking the 200K Hive Power barrier on the Hive blockchain and I must say that it feels quite good. One thing that I am excited about is that this happened in a bear market and all my big moves in this ecosystem were taken when the Hive got under 5 cents, even if it continues to decrease. But while that happens with all my Hive powered up I am gaining more curation rewards and simply growing my stake in the Hive blockchain itself. Not that I can influence governance or DHF proposals in any way, but I feel that I start to have a voice and I can shape some things around me. The engagement has increase from my part, but also on the receiving end of it and this gives me motivation to push forward and continue my growth.

Investing in bear market is not easy

It is not easy to invest in something when the prices are falling and you don't know where's the end of it. The risk is high as everyone is running in one direction and you are running in the opposite one. But if things are well times and thought, you mind find yourself in front of the race (not that there is one). But I think I will be in a good position when the tides turn, the bull shows and the activity increases in this ecosystem along with a new wave of users onboarding. That's when things become interesting as if a wave starts building up, it grows in power and it continue to get bigger and bigger. There is a ripple effect create when the hype is back and in a short period of time there can be impressive swings in tokenomics and everything around them.

The golden rule in investing

When it comes to money and investments the golden rule is not to invest what you cannot afford to lose. This is what I have done on Hive in this crypto cycle and while the risk is very high and my strategy will not pan out in the end, I will not be ruined. My diversifications allows one thing to compensate another and that puts my mind at ease and let me take more daring decisions. But it was a long way to get here and to afford the financial risk that such an investment poses. My career evolved in time, I got to optimize my earnings by being a freelance (even if also that has its own risks) and that got me more funds to up my lifestyle, but also to invest.

My investing journey

I've stared investing more serious about 3 years ago and even if that doesn't seem a big period of time, it seems I bet on the right horses which grew my portfolio either in value or through compounded revenues. For me what worked is a 3 dimension investment strategy: stocks, crypto and real estate (land). And the biggest gain (even if now it is just an evaluation), doesn't come from crypto or stocks as one might expect, but from real estate. A piece of land that I bough is positioned near a new highway that it is being build up and a connection ring. The price for it jumped more than x100. But while this might have been a lucky play (I bought the land 8 years ago), all these components balance themselves pretty well.

I think I've started with one thing and ended up going through other stories or thoughts from my mind. To go back to the topic at hand, I just succeeded to break the 200k Hive Power barrier and now I feel I need to look to the next challenge. And as my birthday is on 22nd, I will set the goal to achieve 220k Hive Power until the end of the year. Will I succeed, will I not? It doesn't matter in itself too much, as it matter more to have a goal and be consistent and persistent towards achieving. So that's what I will be trying to do.
