Northeast Hoquiam – 4 Shots

We had a beautiful spring day in Hoquiam, Wash., and I actually got off my butt and outdoors for some photos.

It wasn't a serious photo excursion, meaning I wasn't planning to develop a full-length post out of the photographs I took. Mainly I was just enjoying the spring air and sunshine.

I walked a mile from my apartment to the backside of College Hill and Sunset Memorial Park for these four photos of northeast Hoquiam. This is a relatively unseen view of Hoquiam for frequent viewers of my blog: most often I'm down on the riverbank or out on the bay to the south.

This view gives us a taste of how colorful the residential areas of Hoquiam are, especially in the third photo of this series.

I did take some photos on the way to this spot, in wooded Elton Bennett Park, but I had my ISO set on auto, and standing in shade to shoot splotches of sunshine did not work out so well. The sunny areas were simply too washed out to save, even though I shoot in RAW. Lesson learned.

I happy with these four shots though ... especially those clouds!
