My Week in Review for April 12, 2025
I hope you are all enjoying your weekend so far. So far so good around here, it's looking to be another nice day weather wise. It looks like I'll spend plenty of time outdoors in the yard today, getting things some of plants pruned back as well as a couple of the smaller trees.
The markets have been a little wild this week, taking crypto along for the ride. I had been hoping for a drop in Hive to $0.18 to pick up a nice amount, but it instead has impressed me with it's resiliency. Hive prices have been holding steady which is a great thing for all of us! Now if we can only get BTC back over $100,000 things might get interesting again.

With all the uncertainty in the world it may be awhile before we see any big surges though. There's still fighting in the middle east, still the fight in Ukraine, and now US generals are sharing concerns that China's protests and war games of surrounding Taiwan are actually rehearsals. They believe China is preparing to take Taiwan sooner than later. World War 3 is feeling more like a matter of when rather than if anymore...
Today I'll be sharing my weekly update on Hive as part of Saturday Savers. I joined up with them to help me focus on my goals here in Hive, and I've found that a weekly review of my progress has helped my achieve them faster. I recommend the group to anyone looking to grow their Hive account! This past week has been mired by controversy on Hive, I'm sure I don't need to explain to most of you. As a result some projects are changing and hopefully we'll see some interesting new facets come out of this mess. So my list will be a little lite this week, as I wait to see the status of some of them.
Hive Power
The primary goal I have set for this year was to reach 10,000 staked HP. I have increased my HP by 118 this week and currently have 7,641 staked Hive. It was a pretty good week and I feel myself inching closer and closer to the finish line. Once I hit 10K I want to start pushing towards 12K, we'll see just how far I make it by year's end!
Currently I am 76.4% of the way to 10,000 HP!
PIMP
My secondary goal of the year is to reach 50,000 staked PIMP. I failed to reach this goal last year but not this time around! I bought a couple thousand PIMP this week to get me to the goal much more quickly so I can focus on other goals. That puts me at 44,497 staked PIMP at the moment. I'm 89% of the way to the final goal, and I plan to reach this it in the next couple of weeks!
PIMP is a great project that is backed by physical silver and Bitcoin, so I have a lot of faith in this one!
DUO
Yet again I'll be pushing my favorite token of them all, DUO! It's going to be coming up on a year now since I started this token along with @bitcoinman and @bulliontools . We saw a void in the ecosystem, which is recruiting and retaining new talent. Not just people here to milk Hive, but those who want to build accounts and strengthen Hive.
To do this our goal is to accumulate enough HP that a portion can be allotted to curate and reward new members. We are actively looking to collaborate with other curating projects who share our vision. Not only that, but to create a Hive school to teach these new members how to succeed and build wealth here on the ecosystem Right now we have 38,136 HP in the curation account and are actively starting to build the school and recruiting some new talent. If you would like to collaborate on the project with us please let us know.
DUO takes great pride in taking care of our investors and they receive the lions share of the benefits. Once you have 200 staked tokens you can receive a daily curation on your quality posts and receive daily liquid Hive dividends. Once you stake more than 500 DUO you also can use the DUO tip call to tip someone with some DUO, and in return you get the same amount of DUO in your account. It pays to tip others with DUO!
I currently have just over 1,400 total DUO. I'm also buying several tokens weekly. As part of the DUO token team we all agreed to only stake 700 DUO each at the beginning to ensure the majority of dividends go to our investors. My stake is about 40 DUO higher now from just tips, so tips in DUO can be substantial and make sure to use them if you have over 500 staked DUO. Also the DUO team does not currently receive curations on our posts to ensure that our stakers receive the best curations possible.

This token is designed to help war veterans both online and in the real world. I will continue to pick a one or two a week because I believe in the project as war veteran myself. I hope my meager investment helps over time!
I currently hold 22 of these. It does pay out a daily liquid Hive dividend to holders as well, so you do earn something on your investment which is always good!
DBOND, DAB, and RUG
I continue to hold all of these, currently I have 302 DBOND, 59 DAB, and 25 RUG tokens. Staked DBOND pays out in DAB tokens, I used to get some DAB daily. I think my DBOND level is below the amount needed to receive DAB daily, so I may have to consider buying some more DBOND. Staked DAB tokens generate staked DBOND, alternatively you can leave them unstaked and get paid in liquid Hive daily. RUG token invests outside of Hive and brings the profits back in and pays out in DBOND, I picked up a couple RUG cheap this week. I'll probably keep picking up more RUG is the price is right.
The decision on a DBOND purchase is one I'll have to kick around for awhile, it might make more sense to buy more DUO as I believe long term the investment will be better. I'll let you know what I decide!

I'm still working towards a goal of 200 of these tokens by year's end. I'm at 122 right now and only picked up one this last week. I've focusing more on some other projects at the moment so this one is on the backburner. I still think I can make it though!
POB
Proof of Brain token is one that I earn from my posts I am staking and then delegating them to pob.voter. In return once a week I receive a liquid Hive dividend from them, which is always welcome. I currently have delegated out 1,452 POB tokens. This week I received 0.160 Hive from pob.voter, down from 0.196 the week before. Still, not too bad for free Hive that is passive income. Will it buy me a giant house and and expensive car? No. But free is always good!
Silver and Gold
Silver and Gold have both rebounded well since taking some losses when the markets had the tariff downturn. I was a great time to buy into these precious metals and I have a feeling the are still "on sale". The world is becoming less and less stable, and that's very good for gold and silver. The prices will likely continue to climb in the foreseeable future.

I have always liked fractional gold, meaning gold that comes in smaller quantity than a full ounce or even 100 grams. First off, it more affordable for the majority of the population. Let's face it, not everyone has $3,000 or more dollars in their budget to buy gold. But what is you had $133.62? You could buy one of those one gram bars seen above. There are even 0.5 gram bars and even smaller ones out there now. Almost anyone can afford to invest in gold with these!
I personally have a lot of these small bars that I've purchase when I wasn't rich enough to buy something bigger. I think they're awesome and a great way to start investing for almost any one.
I suspect both silver and gold will be great bets down the road, and historically they are a great way to build wealth.

And if I start over, it's very difficult to get votes even if you make good posts. 0.18$ might not longer be possible in this cycle, except we get one more big dump. I think starting from May, the dump will get lesser and lesser and we might just begin to see more upward momentum
