My Week in Review for May 17, 2025, Closing In On 10K HP!

It's a pleasant morning here so far in southern California. I'm on the second cup of coffee and enjoying my backyard. It's supposed to be a more cloudy day and a little cooler, since those are kind of rare lately it's a welcome change in my book. It should be a great weekend overall, even though I have some side hustle projects to work on today!

As always, my Saturday posts are more financial in nature, so first off lets start off with some Bitcoin and Hive prices. Bitcoin is still holding in above that $100,000 level for the time being. The prices have been a bit of a roller coaster this week, but no clear downward trends have formed yet. I'm still hoping for a nice push past $110,000 and find support above that level, but at this point it's a bit of a guessing game.

Now looking at the Hive chart for the last week, it continues to impress and showing price increases even with no clear price direction in Bitcoin. I've been wanting to buy up a bunch more Hive if there were a nice dip, but so far those have been becoming rare. We did see a nice push to $0.28 which was likely an intentional push by the Koreans and now we're seeing some drift back down towards $0.25. The time to buy may be near!

I joined the Saturday Savers group here on Hive about nine months back I believe. It's a great community where you set a primary and secondary goal to achieve here on Hive, or even outside. Some people have piling up BTC as a goal. I've found that by quantifying my goals and reviewing my weekly progress I have been achieving them much faster. I've already completed two goals for the year and pushing towards my primary goal even faster as a result. Let's get started with that primary goal, Hive Power.

Hive Power

This year's primary goal is to reach 10,000 staked HP.

Current HP: 8,315 (83.2%) complete
Goal HP: 10,000

I increased my HP by 133 this week, a good week overall. At this rate I should be completing this goal within two to three months depending on how much extra Hive I can buy at low prices. Maybe sooner?

I would like to go even higher, but 10K comes first!

PIMP

Reaching 50,000 staked PIMP was my secondary goal on the year. Having completed the task I'll slowly continue the march toward 100K PIMP when I find some good buy prices. But for now I'll be more focused on my HP goal!

Goal: 50,000

If you don't own any PIMP you really should, it's backed by physical silver and by BTC.

DUO

Coming up on a year ago now, I started a token project with @bulliontools and @bitcoinman called DUO token. If you stake 200 DUO you receive daily Hive dividends and a curation on your quality posts once a day as well. For those who stake 500 you are able to tip someone else's post with some DUO, in return you receive the same amount of the tip in your account as well.

My current holdings:

Goal: 2,000

I don't have a hard goal here, but would like to end up with more than 2K this year. I only picked up a few this week, and also gave some out in my Sunday giveaway, but I think I was up at least six after all was said and done!

Proof of Brain

It's been awhile since I included this token in my Savers post, I continue to earn these from posting. I then stake them and delegate them to @pob.voter , in return, once a week I receive a small amount of liquid Hive. I think I receive 0.166 Hive yesterday for my delegated 1,510 POB. Not enough to get rich, but it's free Hive!

LEO

This year I had set a goal to reach 5,000 Leo. Having already me it I'll continued to power up LEO on power up days and keep building my stack.

EDSI

EDSI has been one goal I've been working on slowly this year, and continue to do so. I'm up one token this week.

Goal: 200

This goal is a soft one, but I'll need to pick up the pace if I'm going to hit 200. I do have a buy order in, and we shall see if someone is in a selling mood!

CCD

I continue to hold and slowly build up my CCD holdings. I also do delegate some HP to the project to earn CCD daily. I want to reach one million this year, but it is a very soft goal.

CCD current: 524,000 roughly

This project was created by @powerpaul who has been building the @cryptocompany for three years now. The in game currency is the CryptoCompany Dollar (CCD). Benefits of staking it can be significant. Those who hold one million can claim one HSBI daily, if you have 500K you can claim an HSBI twice a week, and at 100K you can claim an HSBI once a month.

Silver and Gold

Gold and silver were both down a touch on the week. However, they are up significantly over their prices just one year ago. I still wouldn't be surprised to see gold pass through $4,000 per Troy ounce this year. All the instability in the world will drive more people to invest in these metals as they will always have value.

I like to share fun ways to invest in silver and gold every week, this week I found something on sale at APMEX.com that is 1/10th of a Troy ounce of silver in the style of the old Mercury dime. Have a look at this pretty little thing:

As of the time of writing this post each one is priced at $7.44 which is 20% off the normal premium price. When you buy micro silver the price tends to be a little higher as they are hard to produce. It does give you a way to buy silver even on a limited budget. These are really pretty silver rounds!

Both silver and gold will be great bets down the road, and historically they are a great way to build wealth.

Two goals down on the year, but I'm chipping away at that primary goal and should reach it relatively soon! I can't wait to hit 10,000 HP!
