Hello everyone, Welcome to my Splinterlands Social Media Challenge post. In this post, I will be talking about the Lookout Ability and more, as well as an amazing battle. I hope it will be useful for you.
Units adjacent to Units with the Lookout Ability 1 less damage from attackers with Sneak, Snipe, or Opportunity. And reduces damage from all enemy Ambush attacks by 50% (rounded down). So the Lookout Ability is very useful against Units with Sneak, Snipe, and Opportunity, but remember that Units adjacent to Units with only the Lookout Ability will take less damage from them. However, Units with Lookout do not protect themselves against Sneak, Snipe, or Opportunity.
If I feel that the opposing team will have Units with Sneak, Snipe, and/or Opportunity, I will definitely include Lookout Ability in my lineup without hesitation, especially in battles with Equal Opportunity, Target Practice, and/or Super Sneak rulesets, because it is really useful. Also, combining it with defensive abilities like Shield, Void will reduce the damage dealt by the enemies even more.
Let's examine the Lookout Ability in a battle and one of my favorite strategies with it.
According to the ruleset of the battle, all Units will have the Opportunity Ability, Neutral Units cannot be summoned, and only Units with magic attacks can be summoned.
Since only Units with magic attack can be summoned in this battle, first of all, I chose Immortalis as the Summoner, so all Units in my team will have Void Ability and Shatter Ability, and all enemy Units will have -1 health. And without hesitation, I added Ujurak Mystic with Lookout Ability to my team, but Ujurak Mystic only has 3 health so it would be the first target of the enemies, so I added Taunt Ability to my lineup, and I put Ujurak Mystic adjacent to Mycelic Slipspawn with Taunt Ability. And I put Units that I believed could be useful in other positions.
By the way, as far as I know, there are 7 cards with the Lookout Ability, one of which is the summoner. For more information, you can check out the collection page on Splinterlands.com. The most interesting thing is that although Ujurak Mystic is a Common card, it is incredible that it has the Lookout Ability. That's why Ujurak Mystic was the first card I added to my deck (from those with Lookout Ability). I would also love to include Triage Ability in my lineup but they were not available for this battle but if Neutral Units could be summoned I would add Spirit Hoarder to my team.
Round 1
My opponent's cards were much more powerful, especially having a level 10 Goblin Psychic was a big advantage. Luckily the opposing player didn't have the Lookout ability in their lineup, otherwise I would have lost this battle. If the opposing player had puy the Lookout Ability adjacent to Mycelic Slipspawn, Mycelic Slipspawn might not have taken any magic attack damage from my team.
In the first round, all Units hit their targets but no Unit was destroyed, but Goblin Psychic on both teams applied affliction to Mycelic Slipspawn on both teams.
Round 2
Due to the combination of Void and Lookout Ability, enemies were having a hard time damaging and destroying Mycelic Slipspawn despite their high attack power. At the end of the second round, while the opposing team's Mycelic Slipspawn was destroyed, my team's Mycelic Slipspawn managed to survive.
Round 3
In the third round, the enemies managed to destroy Mycelic Slipspaw, but the opposing team only had 3 Units left, so even if they destroyed it, they didn't have much of a chance of winning the battle. Meanwhile, Mycelic Slipspaw took 3 rounds to be destroyed even though it was not healed at all, and considering the enemies' attack power, it was remarkable that Mycelic Slipspaw survived for this long.
Round 4
In the fourth round, Regal Peryton from my team was destroyed, while Goblin Psychic and Djinn Biljka from the opposing team were destroyed.
Round 5
And in the fifth round, Blackmoor Wild Elf was also destroyed and my team managed to win the battle.
The battle lasted 5 rounds and at the end of the battle all Units on the opposing team were destroyed while 4 Units on my team were still alive which clearly showed how well my strategy worked in this battle. This battle was a good example of how useful Lookout ability is in this type of battle, and also a good example of how useful it is when combined with Void ability against Magic attacks. So I would like to say that this is one of my favorite strategies in this type of battles. I highly recommend including Lookout in your lineup against Units with Sneak, Snipe, or Opportunity, but just remember that Units adjacent to Units with only the Lookout Ability will take less damage from them.
