Hello everyone, Welcome to my Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge post. In this post, I will be talking about my favorite strategies with Summoner Immortalis, and more, as well as an amazing battle. I hope it will be useful for you.
Immortalis is a Earth Summoner who grants Void Ability and Shatter Ability to all friendly Monsters at the start of battle, and reduces the health of all enemy Monsters by 1. It costs 6 mana.
In the early years of the Arena Games, many battle mages began working together and formed guilds. All across the Splinterlands, they combined their resources to construct halls, lodges, barracks, stores, and even arenas where they hosted brawls—tournaments that pitted guilds against one another in a series of battles to prove which was the best.
Immortalis, one of the most powerful battle mages of the era, was the leader of one such guild. His training regimen was brutal and demanding, and he required nothing less than absolute perfection from those he accepted into his ranks. The weak were soon weeded out, while the strong flourished and grew even stronger. Immortalis and his guild proved all but unbeatable, and spectators from across the Splinterlands packed the stands to watch him swagger into the arena and direct his guild members as they mercilessly crushed their opponents.
Guild brawls continued to grow in popularity and, recognizing an opportunity to expand its influence and profit, the Order of the Scale formally subsumed guilds into the combat arena industry, requiring them to purchase a charter to become officially sanctioned organizations.
But Immortalis detested bureaucracy and the restrictions and regulations placed upon the guilds. Also, although he could still best nearly all who stood opposite him in the arena, he was growing older and wearied of teaching the latest generation of battle mages the tactics and strategies that, to him, were instinctive and seemed rudimentary.
Thus, Immortalis passed the baton to his most trusted and combat-hardened disciple: the battle mage Clove Sevintian.
She promised to make him proud. He told her that he knew she would… and to not be surprised if she should chance to look into the stands and catch sight of a white-bearded man with a shepherd's crook in his hand and a mountain dog by his side.
“You can take the man out of the Games,” he said, “but you can't take the Games out of the man.”
Then he slung his pack over his shoulder and, with his loyal canine, Siwel, at his side, he left the keep of the guild known as Immortal Gods and disappeared into the horizon. Source
Void Ability reduces damage from Magic attacks, making it a very useful ability against Magic attacks. Additionally, Void Ability reduce the Blast damage from Magic attacks and returned damage from Magic Reflect. I highly recommend you consider including Void Ability in your lineup against Magic Attack Monsters, you will see that it is very useful. Magic attacks hit the armor of Monsters with Void Armor Ability before their health and can miss Monsters with Phase Ability. Therefore, using Void Ability with Void Armor and/or Phase will be much more useful against Magic Attack Monsters.
No matter how much armor a target has, when hit by an attack from a Monster with Shatter Ability, it will all be destroyed, making it very useful against armored enemies. The best part is that even if the target doesn't take damage, all of its armor is destroyed on the first successful hit, and even Divine Shield can't prevent all of its armor from being destroyed. Shatter Ability is a complete armor killer.
In short, Void Ability is very useful against Magic Attack Monsters, while Shatter Ability is very useful against armored Monsters. They are both really very powerful abilities and very useful in certain battles, so I like both of these abilities very much. And Immortalis gives both of these abilities to all friendly monsters at the start of the battle, making them much more effective in certain battles.
Immortalis is a really powerful summoner and its abilities make the team much more effective in certain battles. However, it costs 6 mana, so it is not very advantageous to choose it in low mana battles, I usually prefer it in high mana battles. Also, it can't be used in Little League ruleset battles, to be honest it wouldn't be fair for it to be usable in this ruleset so I think it's very fair that it costs 6 mana.
I would like to say that when you use Immortalis with a good strategy, it will make your team much more effective in certain battles and will even help you defeat very powerful opponents. You can take what I said above into consideration when determining your strategy. Let's examine a battle that I think would be a good example of what I said above.
According to the ruleset of the battle, all Monsters will have the Divine Shield Ability, and one additional Gladiator card may be used.
I knew that the opposing player would use Magic attack Monsters and put Magic Reflect Ability in the first position, so I chose Immortalis as the Summoner. And I included Taunt Ability, Tank Heal Ability, Affliction Ability, Protect Ability, and Inspire Ability in my lineup as I believe they will help my strategy.
All enemies will first target the Monster with the Taunt Ability.
Tank Heal Ability restores a third of max health to the Monster in the first position each round, making it harder to destroy.
When a Monster with the Affliction Ability hits a target, it has a 50% chance of applying Affliction on the target causing it to be unable to be healed, very useful in battles to prevent enemies from healing.
The Protect Ability grants +2 Armor to all friendly Monsters, and armoring up against Melee and Ranged attack monsters is very useful.
The Inspire Ability grants +1 Melee Attack to all friendly Melee Attack Monsters.
These abilities will help my strategy work better, but my main goal was to destroy the opposing team with Katrelba Gobson by targeting the Monster in the last position on the opposing team. This is exactly why I included Inspire Ability in my lineup.
Since all the Monsters on my team had Void Ability, the Magic Attack Monsters on the opposing team were not very effective in the battle. However, the opposing player had included 2 Triage ability in their lineup, so it was not easy to destroy Iziar with Void Ability with Magic attacks, that's exactly why I included Affliction Ability in my lineup and added Katrelba Gobson to my team. The Affliction Ability succeeded in applying affliction on Iziar in the first round, and Katrelba Gobson's powerful attacks nearly ruined the opponent's plans. Also, the Magic Attack Monsters on my team were not taking any damage from Magic Reflect.
Despite having Divine Shield Ability and 5 armor, Corsair Bosun lost both its Divine Shield and all of its armor after Katrelba Gobson's successful attack, which clearly shows how useful the Shatter Ability is in battles.
The battle lasted 7 rounds and my team managed to win the battle. At the end of the battle, Katrelba Gobson had 9 Melee Attacks, 8 Speed, 7 Armor, and 10 Health, which was admirable. The main reasons why I prefer Immortalis as a summoner are to make my team more resistant to Magic attacks and Magic Reflect, and to destroy the enemy team with Melee and Ranged Attacks instead of Magic attacks, however, I do not hesitate to add Magic Attack Monsters that I believe will benefit my team, the above battle is a good example of this. Void Ability makes all friendly Monsters more resistant to Magic attacks, while Shatter Ability allows to shatter your opponent's armor and attack their health stat directly and Immortalis reduces all enemies' health by 1, which is why Immortalis is one of my favorite summoners and makes the entire team much more effective in certain battles, the battle above being a good example of this.
If you have any questions about abilities, rulesets, the battle above, and Splinterlands, please feel free to ask and I'll be happy to answer them.
