Well, it seems like the Arcade Colony platform is on fire, as it just keeps growing and expanding its universe. After successfully developing and running the MoonKarts arcade-style racing game and then teasing us with the upcoming shooting game Hyper Rail Blaster, they are already developing another new gaming project under ArcadeColony’s hood to bring us a brand-new casino-style experience on Hive chain, Stakehouse Den. Stakehouse Den will be a casino-type play2earn crypto game with all the features we see in other similar leading web3 games and today, I am going to talk about what makes this particular Web3 Social Casino so special and why you would want to jump in soon or even before it goes live. So, if you are interested, let’s take a dive without any further ado.
At its core, Stakehouse Den is a digital casino, or should I say a digital Las Vegas in your pocket, where you can play different types of classic gambling games and also earn from competitive gaming, just like any other web3 game. Stakehouse Den is the digitalisation of luck-based card games and in this game, you can enjoy playing popular different games such as slots, poker, roulette, Blackjack and hopefully more in the future, while earning real Colony tokens for your time, investment and effort. It’s built by the Invennium Corp, which is actually a Splinterlands subsidiary company and this is the same corporation that runs and manages the Arcade Colony platform. But wait, don't we already have these types of games on digital platforms already? Yes, we certainly do, but Stakehouse Den is not just another online casino game, it is a true crypto game that runs on Web3 technology, which means:
True Ownership - You are the owner and in control of your in-game assets (NFTs, tokens etc.) on the Hive blockchain.
Transparent Rules - The gameplay logic and token distribution are transparent, blockchain-based based and get recorded on a public ledger.
Community Governance - No centralised authority, including the company itself, can make major decisions on their own and has to rely on a decentralised voting system.
So, any significant change in the game, like token allocation, airdrop, item sale etc. is decided through a decentralised voting system, which Colony stakers can vote, and it gets managed by the Arcade Colony DAO.
Now I know, many of you do not like the word ‘Gambling’. In fact, I have never played any such games earlier in my life and always avoided them, not to lose money or get addicted. Now ArcadeColony may have has the same thought, maybe that is why they trimmed the ‘Money Gambling’ part and yes, you would not need to be using real money to play this game. Instead, Stakehouse Den will be following an interesting “Social Casino” model, which means:
Zero Consideration Required - There will be no cash buy-in, this game is made to just enjoy the fun of gameplay.
Colony Token Rewards - Play and Win games, and you get a chance to earn a share of the daily $Colony reward pool.
From my first impression, it does look like a safe game with a low-barrier entry to enjoy casino classics and maybe a refreshing, good way to bring your friends into the Web3 world through Stakehouse Den.
If you have been reading my previous posts, you saw me mentioning the term ‘ArcadeColony’ many times, especially in my Moonkarts posts. This online web3 gaming platform is building new games at a rapid speed while leveraging the Hive blockchain technology to provide a secure and transparent environment and also leveraging the userbase of Hive to receive the first important push while gifting us the precious chance to enter into these games quickly. At this point, there is no doubt that Arcade Colony is not just a website with a collection of 3 or 4 games. It is actually transforming itself into a full-fledged ecosystem, launching games one by one in different genres and stealing hearts in this Web3 world. But, though they already have 2 games successfully running other than Splinterlands and 2 more to be launched very soon, this whole platform, including the games (except Splinterlands), is powered by two tokens, Colony and Script.
Colony - It is the in-game reward token and also the governance token of the ArcadeColony platform. You can trade Colony tokens or stake them to increase your in-game rewards and vote on proposals.
Script - Script is the stablecoin for the ArcadeColony platform and it helps to keep things balanced by offsetting price swings.
To kick off Stakehouse Den and make it an instant hit upon launch, the developers of this game have requested 80 million Colony tokens from the DAO, which will be distributed to players and investors over the next 5 years. In return, they have promised to deliver eight unique luck-based games or games of chance, hopefully starting with four at launch, like I mentioned above and then expanding from there.
Roulette - A spinning wheel and bouncing ball decide the winner, the lucky one in whose slot the ball lands.
Video Blackjack - You will be going head-to-head with a simulated dealer. Do it better when doing hit, stand, double down, and win the game.
Slots - Line up three matching symbols on the reels and that’s it, then just watch your token rewards roll in.
Video Poker (Coming Soon) - Get dealt a hand, choose which cards are best to keep, and then just pray for that royal flush.
As I said above, each of these games in Stakehouse Colony will feel just like the same, that you know from real-world casinos. However, this time they are even more flashy and life-changing, but with the added thrill of blockchain-based rewards, security and transparency. If you have an interest in casino or luck-based games, this is your chance to start preparing for this upcoming game. So, just try to catch the train before it leaves!
