Moonkarts | My Experience with the game and COLONY Goal

Hello Readers,

As you are reading this post, you are already an active soul on the Hive blockchain, and considering you already have a basic knowledge about the Hive chain and the list of projects and dApps that run on this chain, apart from blogging. At this point, there’s no doubt that Hive is silently rising to become the web3 world’s next favourite destination for developing crypto or blockchain based projects, as we are already seeing new such projects being built and successfully running. One such project that I recently stumbled into recently is Moonkarts and if you been reading my posts lately, you know how deep I am getting into this gaming project and not only I have been playing it on a daily basis, but also often been writing posts describing different aspects of this game and also sharing my progress.

Now, though the game is still in alpha phase and needs a polish, it is right now playable and the play2earn model is also working, which encouraged me to start my journey and grow my account in the game. Now, the game has only started to onboard new players and does not have a big player base right now, so sometimes I have to wait even 15 to 30 minutes just to find an opponent online to race against. Now, if you are happen to be one of the handful players who are already playing the game actively, you know that we are right now playing in ranked season 22 and only around 2 days and a couple of hours left for this ongoing ranked season to end, after which all of us active players will be rewarded with colony tokens based on our overall performance in this season. There are 2 different leaderboards in Moonkarts - Ranked and Orbital and players can work on both these LBs simultaneously and get rewarded from both of them. While the ranked leaderboard rewards are purely based on your racing performance throughout the season, in the orbital leaderboard, you earn a food position by simply continuing to collect a minimum of 3 orbitals while playing every multiplayer race and the more orbital points you collect by doing so, the better you progress in this leaderboard.

Now, while the ranked leaderboard has decent colony rewards, especially for the top 5 position holders, it is the orbital leaderboard where the real treasures lies and based on your performance, if you somehow manage to secure one of the top 3 positions in the leaderboard, you will earn hundreds of thousands colony tokens as your reward. But remember, though it seems an easy task to just play races and collect 3 orbitals scattered across the race track, I found that you literally have to play all day for a whole season to match the score the top 3 are having right now. I would say that though it is not impossible to achieve, it is indeed a hard task and looking at the current price of Colony, you may find it worthless to spend whole day playing the game, but who know, if this game gains a good popularity in the future and become able to gather a large playerbase, you would be sitting on huge stockpile of colony tokens and booking a whooping gain on long term, but yes, that’s just a lame speculation.

My Journey in Moonkarts

Now, taking a look at my own journey in the game, I have only recently joined the game and have been engaging for around 3 months now. In my initial days, I just learned about all the basics of how the game and its reward distribution work, then I made a little investment and bought some e try level cards to try playing the myself. After experiencing the game initially, I was very interested, especially with its adrenaline rushed gameplay, as this gave me a whole new level of thrill that I had never experienced before while playing a crypto-based game. With its full-fledged 3D graphics, futuristic spiral race tracks sparkling with neon lights and smooth gameplay experience and the well-crafted reward mechanism, I got carried away totally. After spending a while learning and then testing the game in single-player mode, I finally decided to invest a decent amount and build a competitive racing setup. So that I can play in the multiplayer mode and race against other pro racers to start earning colony tokens and increase my stake.

I have started playing into the multiplayer mode from season 18 onwards and in these 4 seasons, I have played a lot, especially since the last season and also learned so many things on how to perform better, which cards works better etc and as shared in the screenshots, you can see that my performance is also been getting better day by day, which is indeed pumping even more motivation inside me to keep going forward.

In this ongoing 22nd multiplayer season, I have by far played the best and have been able to achieve 3236 ranking points and as you can see, my Colony token earning has also increased by a lot as I am pushing my trophies upwards. Looking at my place in both the leaderboards, l and currently holding 4th place in ranked LB and sitting on 7th ranked in Orbital LB, but seeing the gap from the players above me, I don't think I can beat them at least in this season. But gladly, I am earning around 20 to 35 colony tokens approx from each race right now, all of which I am staking back into may wallet to push my staking factor further and as only 2 more days remaining for this season to end, I will try to push my rating even higher and see how much I can earn from this season’s leaderboard rewards.

My Colony Stake

I recently bought around 380k Colony tokens and staked them all in my account and currently, I have a total of 413,577 Colony tokens staked in my account. As I have successfully pushed my Ranking points above 3000, I am earning significantly a lot more colony tokens per day and today, after finishing my playing session, I earned around 520 Colony tokens, which I as usual, staked back in my wallet. I have decided to keep staking all my colony rewards until I reach 1 million staked at least and I am not even halfway there. Let’s see how much time it requires to reach my colony goals and in the meantime, I will try my level best to earn as many colony tokens as possible. What about you?
