Peakd is one of the most widely used front ends on Hive and is perhaps the most feature-rich.
For example, Peakd's editor is the only editor that has Undo and Redo functionality, a feature that has been useful to me many times because it has saved me from rewriting parts of posts that I had deleted by mistake.
In today's post I share a new and useful piece of information that the Peakd team has added to the user profile viewable at the top of the Blog, All Posts, Snaps, Replies and Others sections.
In fact right after the username and reputation value the KE has been added.
The KE = Krampus Co-efficient is the indicator designed and created by @azircon.
The KE correlates three elements (Author Rewards, Curation Rewards, and HP Held) via the formula:
A KE < 1 indicates a hiver who has more HP in his wallet than he has earned through publishing and curation activities = a high propensity for staking HIVE tokens
KE is good indicator but everyone is free to assign a weight and value to it according to their personal criteria.
For example, I consider several elements when choosing which authors to support on Hive:
KE is gaining in importance as time goes on because more and more projects are using it.
In fact, in Splinterlands contests, KE is one of the elements (not the only element) that curators consider before curating posts that participate in the contests.
I wrote a whole post about KE and the relationship between Splinterlands contests and this useful indicator.
In the beautiful project Apis.Hive is used as a requirement (KE <= 1.8) to receive delegations in HP.
Now that Peakd has added the KE it is even easier and more immediate to visualize.
Everyone on Hive is totally free to do whatever they want with their HIVE, HBD and HP.
Everyone on Hive is absolutely free to choose whether to increase their Hive Power or sell their HIVE tokens and HBD tokens.
Hive is a Delegate Proof of Stake (DPOS) blockchain and the stake = Hive Power (HP) is a very important element because it measures influence in the Hive Network.
Those with long-term goals on Hive are naturally focused on increasing their HP and are also more likely to receive support on Hive
Those with non-delegated Hive Power show interest in supporting others and the ability to incentivize and support other Hivers is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful aspects of our beloved Hive!
If you have a high KE you don't have to worry at all because you can always improve it! ;)
I hope I have given you useful information and some interesting thoughts and thank you for taking the time to read this post :)
If you are not a Hive user and don't know the world of blockchains you have two options:
You can continue to be a simple number, a simple source of data and wealth for centralized projects like Facebook & Co. without receiving anything or almost anything in return.
You can choose to be free, you can choose to have full ownership of your data and content and you can start your adventure on Hive.
What makes Hive's blockchain more unique than rare are its peculiarities:
Hive is a Delegate Proof of Stake (DPOS) blockchain on which a large ecosystem of sites, projects and communities "lives".
Hive is completely decentralized
Hive is very fast: 3 second block speeds.
Hive has no transaction costs
Hive has many utilities and features
Hive has a big and beautiful community
If you don't have a Hive account you can easily create one in just a few steps.
I wrote a short tutorial where I show how to do it using the free service offered by Hive On Board:
Alternatively, you can create a Hive account using one of the free services offered by Inleo and Ecency or use one of the registration options at https://signup.hive.io/.

All Posts, Snaps, Replies and Others.
Hive è molto veloce: 3 second block speeds

I don't like the feature because it judges you if you have to make a living (because you are a full-time Hivian) or pay your project from your Hive work. So now I have a bad image because I or my project have to make power downs to pay server costs and manpower and what else there could be within a digital business/enagement?
And what about the value I've brought to all Hivians because I'm working on my/our project? I brought so much money to other Hivians, instead of to my own pocket, because I create awesome & worthy services for Hivians - and I am stupid because of that it looks like! I invested my whole private money, scratch all my pennies together to pay my bills, to do this project; to finance this. To support this "Join the revolution!" (To make this chain a better place! I engage myself like hell, work myself ill for that! Now I become labeld for that?) This slogan is a joke very often by the way! Which revolution? The old systems that oligarchy is ruling here and hammer down your services, if it threatens their standing? In the same time where others have the same services, even more bad constructed, but don't get touched, because they are bigger or be part of the "we foo in a circle"? Fu## that!
Engagement, support, that's not mapped. It's just, "Oh, look, he's doing power downs. He's not worth supporting!" No? I support other Hivians since over 3 years all the time with my project and now I get labeled for it on the most prominent place? Thank you!
This system here is developing more and more aspects that annoy me... Not only oligarchy which is ruling here. Now I become labeld as a "pull away the worth from the chain person/project"? What? That's not just ridiculous, it's discrediting. I feel pissed on me by this, to be honest. Yes, we can say I am stupid! No problem! I am! Because I do this this sh## here! Only my honor and my promises to good Hivians hold me here to deliver my word. Why? As a good person & Hivian! Other "Hivians" (I prefer the word 'user' in this case) adbuse the chain how they can and I try to support where I can? How stupid am I? I love(d?) this blockchain, but maybe I am just stupid to engage in this huge amount without scaming & ripping the people... Or should we create service to scam & rip people? What counts here on the chain? I am sooo mad about this label! Thank you for that, @peakd!
I understand what the label shows/indicates. But the reasons for a power down might be different. But people don't will see this very often. All in all: This label is the thanks for engaging people? Awesome! Clap clap clap. Very delighted by that.
Hi @powerpaul
Hi I consider KE a good indicator but only when combined with other elements.
I support people who have a high KE but interact a lot on Hive or create useful things on Hive.
For example the curators of splinterlands consider a KE > 3 as a reason to research and see other factors but it is not something that alone judges and determines curation
For example in your case, you have a KE = 2.85 which is not high but even if you had 10 I would always support you because you are a creator of a nice project and you devote so much time to Hive
Consider that almost all curation projects have a very high KE but that does not mean they are bad projects but it is the opposite they are very useful projects.
For example ocd is one of the most useful manual curation projects and has a KE = 15.73. For projects KE is absolutely useless and in my opinion it is also useless for devs or project creators.
So for nice and useful projects like yours, the KE means and counts for nothing but in the case of a hiver who posts but doesn't interact (doesn't comment or respond to comments), doesn't create and just does power down the KE has value and indicates an account that is not interested in Hive but only in monetization.
I consider KE a good addition to peakd because it is just an information and can be useful especially for new users to understand that building a stake on Hive is important but it is not a judgment in my opinion it is just an evaluation element to be combined with other elements.
In conclusion in my opinion those who will consider the KE an important element alone in deciding who to support will be wrong.
In my opinion, it should not be taken as a judgment but simply as information that, by the way, is easily calculated even without the peakd indicator
Interaction is a very important element on Hive, and power down is an absolutely possible and legitimate action on Hiveand that's why in my opinion you should not consider KE for what it is not. ' It's just information.
What do you think my friend?
A hug
Njaaah... In every case I thank you for your answer and the aspects you mentioned. I still don't think that it looks great to have 2.85 or similar or 4.18 like @cryptocompany... I looked for other Hivians or Hive users. Your OCD snapshot... okay... It may be normal to don't have factor 1. My brain still says: "I know how it is 'You receive less support when you power down.'" To see OCD at 15.73 may say "Paul, there are other profiles too with higher than X" - but I am still not happy about. Sure, everybody could calculate this calculation... But... I don't feel great with it. I feel judged - and maybe it is double hard for me, because I try to don't judge. In the sense of "Don't judge if you don't like to be judged."
Ah, damn... yeah... At least you showed me a 15.X...
I agree with you in terms of that it makes it more easy to see the power-down-users which only suck values. But even this might be okay! It is part of the revolution & I am happy about when there are people which can buy their rice with it! I mean this is part of the revolution! To enable money-flow without a boss between.
Okay... And I assume that more people are happy to see a KE, than people in a position like I am. At the end "it is what it is" and "it is". Yeaaaah... okay... I will drink a further Gin now... Lastly I can't do anything against beside to give feedback to @peakd. But I assume I am a little lonely with this and more Hivians will party on this new feature...
I just can hope peoples/supporters aren't scared by this... I agree, it gives us a worthy indicator about other Hivians/users. But why I am not a "other Hivian" too? Yeah... So it counts to show the own quality and value... and lastly to show that somebody is a Hivian in the best sense/try... Yeah... lastly "it is"...
Your answer helped me a little - or maybe it is the Gin !LOL ... Or both... You too! In every case thank you for expanding my view! Thank you for that my bro.
I am still not happy with it... but I don't know if I need to... Because "it is" is sufficient in most cases.
Thank you for your comment! It calmed me down and brought my to acceptance...
Liberty, Hive a great day! Thank you once again. !HUG

HP is just a factor to consider, but it can't be everything. For example, does it consider the HBD in savings? There are also projects like Splinterlands, or the one you mentioned. Hive is also a factor in helping some people from third-world countries live, because I have seen a few examples in the past. I don't think it's the only thing to consider, so I agree that the label would be annoying. It is nothing more than a factor to consider, but some people will use that to decide who to support or not. It won't change what I will do, though.

I think it's nice to see. It gives people more things to consider when they follow someone. Mines is higher than 1, but I did spend some rewards on Splinterlands during the Chaos Legion days. It helped improve my deck quite a bit, but I still think my KE ratio isn't too bad.
Yes? Are you sure? Can I show you my view on that from my point of view? Maybe I see something wrong and we can talk about... https://peakd.com/hive-146620/@powerpaul/re-libertycrypto27-sw8uh6
Hive a great day!
My friend, your KE is very good in my opinion
KE is only one of the elements to consider when evaluating an account. A KE below three or four is an acceptable KE in my opinion in the case of an author who interacts a lot.
If the author writes low effort posts and does nothing else the discussion changes for me.
I like that peakd added it to the other information in the profile
first time hearing this, i guess peakd has alot of features i cant find using the ecency app. I thought the KE Is a total of hbd, and hive being held in the wallet?
KE is only one indicator, but it is important to consider other elements as well
exactly 😊
Comunque comodissimo poter vedere quel valore così comodamente su Peakd adesso :)

Impressive that you've kept your KE at a low rate of 0.87. Good work and thanks for setting a good example for others on Hive. Mine is below 1 also and I hope to keep it that way for a long time.
thanks my friend and congrats for your KE that is very good!
