dCrops is an NFT-based farming game developed and built on the blockchain of Hive.
In the dCrops game, time is marked by seasons that are the same as in real life but have a duration of only 15 days.
At the time I begin writing this post there are just over 3 hours until the end of the fall season.

I have been a dCrops player since the end of May 2021, and the operations I perform a few hours before the end of each season have become operations I do almost automatically:

• check if I have seeds planted and if I have not yet harvested.
• check if I have completed or can complete all seasonal quests
• decide which agricultural products (Crops) to sell and which to keep.

The fall season was not like any other season because on December 1, 2022, the dCrops Halloween Celebration promotion ended, which lasted for one month and involved three game seasons (late spring, summer, and early fall parts).

Many game operations completed during the period October 31-December 1, 2022 allowed for the accumulation of Halloween candy points that could be exchanged for 4 game items (REWARD CHEST, FERTI-PLUS, SPEED-GRO, and MYSTERY SEED) and Coffins that cost 250 Halloween Candy and could contain:

• 1 Golden Ticket (5% chance)
• from 1 to 25 CROP tokens (35% probability)
• from 1 to 50 Halloween Candy (60% probability)

To earn the maximum number of Halloween Candy, I selected and sold a portion of the crops obtained during the fall before December 1 instead of waiting until the last day of the season as I usually do instead.

Thanks to the game transactions I completed during the period October 31-December 1, I earned 956 Halloween Candy.

I chose not to try my luck at trying to get the Golden Tokens and chose to exchange the Halloween Candy points for:

• 50 Mystery Seed
• 10 Ferti-Plus
• 10 Speed-Gro

The Mystery Seeds will allow me to maximize the use of my Land Plots in seasons when and if I have fewer seeds to plant than the number of my Land plots.

It's time to open 20 beta packs

I decided not to sell the crops I got from December 1 to date because I want to increase the amount of crops I have in my inventory to easily complete seasonal quests.

I have been following the strategy of not selling all the crops I get during a season for a long time and I try to keep 6 crops for each type of crop and each type of rarity (1-2-3 stars).

However, my strategy is no longer sufficient because for the past two seasons the new quests involving NFTs from the Beta edition have been introduced while before the quests only involved quests related to NFTs from the Alpha edition, which are the NFTs in the largest number in my collection.

Precisely the seasonal quests were the main reason that convinced me to open 35 Beta packs today.
In the past months I have almost always completed the seasonal quests smoothly except for the last two seasons, and in fact in the season that is about to end I have completed only 3 out of 7 quests, and to receive the end-of-season rewards it is necessary to complete all 7.

There is the Reroll option but performing it more than 4-5 times is not a convenient operation in my opinion because the cost is 10 CROP tokens for each reroll.
I therefore prefer to open a portion of my Beta packs and even though it will decrease my Holding Rewards I will have a higher probability of completing seasonal quests without having to use the Reroll function.

From the OPEN section of dCrops you can only open 5 packs at a time and the odds of finding a legendary are only 1% per card.

This means that 1 in 100 cards is on average a legendary.
I have 40 Beta packs and therefore have a potential of 120 cards to discover because each Beta pack contains 3 cards of which one will be at least Rare.

With 40 Beta packs available I decided to open a minimum of 20 packs.
I have decided to open 5 packs at a time and I have decided to stop only when I have found a legendary card that I might find in the first packs or in the last packs.
Obviously I hope to be kissed by luck and I hope to find more than one legendary even though the odds are not on my side and I might even be very unlucky and not even find a single legendary card...

I opened 30 packs but no legendary cards even a shadow...let's see the next 5 packs

Yes!!! At the 34th pack opened and right at the 100th card I find a legendary card.

I found my first Tree-type card that once planted will become a peach tree

The only problem is that in order to plant a Tree-type NFT, I must have a Land plot of legendary type and I don't have Land of legendary type.

I still have to consider what to do, whether to buy a NFT Land of legendary type or to sell the legendary card I just found.

But this will be a pleasant decision to make because whatever choice I make, today I found a card whose market value is very high!

There are no Peach Seed for sale in the market (another posivite factor) and the other Tree Seed for sale all have market values above 111 HIVE.

Well I am satisfied with the cards I found and I will stop here with the opening of the Beta packs.
I have decreased the number of packs in my possession, now I have 23 Alpha packs and only 5 Beta packs but I have increased the number of NFTs I can use during dCrops seasons.

New season and New quests

I have decided to open Beta packs to have a better chance of completing the quests without hitting the Reroll button, and with the winter season just beginning, it is time to see if the new quests will be easy for me to complete or not.

In the image below you can see the quests I need to complete in the winter season.

The first quest requires me to plant 4 Cabbage seeds.
I have 6 Cabbage seeds in my collection so "no problem"!

The second quest requires selling 1 3-star quality Pumpkin which is a crop not obtainable in winter but in autumn.

Unfortunately, I don't have three-star quality Pumpkin in my inventory so I have to use the Reroll feature and spend 10 CROP tokens.

The new second quest requires: Plant 2 Parsley seeds.

I did not have Parsley seeds before opening the Beta packs but now I have 5 Parsley seeds and can complete this quest easily as well.

The third quest requires: Sell 3 Bell Pepper of 2 star quality.

I have a Bell Pepper seed to plant in the winter season that will produce at least 35 crops, and I also have 3 two-star quality Bell Pepper crops in my inventory so I can complete this quest right away as well.

The fourth quest requires: Plant 3 Onion seeds.
Unfortunately, I only have 1 NFT Onion so I have to spend another 10 CROP tokens to do the Reroll.

The new fourth quest requires Sell 3 Sunflower (2 stars).

I only have 3 Sunflower (1 star) in my inventory and had to redo the Reroll :(

Fortunately I get a quest that I can complete!

Do you like the mechanism of Reroll?
I like dCrops but the Reroll mechanism no, I really don't like it!
Personally I would have preferred a higher cost of Reroll but with a Reroll with the guarantee of receiving a completable quest.

The fifth quest requires Harvest 4 Onion crops.

I only have 1 NFT Onion but from a single harvest I will receive 7 crops so I can easily complete this quest as well.

The sixth quest requires Harvest 4 Cilantro crops.

I have 4 Cilantro NFTs that produce 8 crops, so I will be able to complete the sixth quest as well.

The seventh quest requires Plant 1 Peas seeds and I have lots of Peas so I can complete it without any problems.

Well that's it for this post, by opening 35 Beta packs I have greatly improved my present and future chances of completing seasonal quests and this was the first goal I wanted to achieve.
By opening 35 Beta packs I have reduced my Crop Power and as a result will be smaller in value the Holding Rewards I will receive in the coming days but on the other hand I have increased my production capacity which will earn me more active player rewards (CROPS, Boosters and Resources).

The legendary card I found today was a nice surprise and the evaluation of what I will do with the NFT Peach seed will be the topic of a future post of mine on dCrops.

La mia operatività di fine autunno + 35 Pacchi Beta aperti + Le mie ricompense della promo Halloween Celebration + Le mie missioni invernali

dCrops è un gioco di farming basato su NFT sviluppato e costruito sulla blockchain di Hive.
Nel gioco di dCrops il tempo è scandito dalle stagioni che sono le stesse della vita reale ma hanno una durata di soli 15 giorni.
Nel momento in cui inizio a scrivere questo post mancano poco più di 3 ore alla fine della stagione autunnale.

Sono un giocatore di dCrops dalla fine del mese di maggio 2021 e le operazioni che eseguo poche ore prima della fine di ogni stagione sono diventate delle operazioni che faccio quasi in automatico:

• controllo se ho semi piantati e se non ho ancora effettuato il raccolto
• verifico se ho completato o se posso completare tutte le quests stagionali
• decido quali prodotti agricoli (Crops) vendere e quali tenere

La stagione autunnale non è stata una stagione come le altre perchè il 1 dicembre 2022 è terminata la promozione dCrops Halloween Celebration che ha avuto una durata di un mese e ha coinvolto tre stagioni di gioco (parte finale della primavera, estate e parte iniziale dell'autunno).

Tutte le operazioni di gioco completate nel periodo 31 ottobre - 1 dicembre 2022 permettevano di ottenere dei punti Halloween candy che potevano essere scambiati con 4 elementi del gioco (REWARD CHEST, FERTI-PLUS, SPEED-GRO e MYSTERY SEED) e con i Coffin che costavano 250 Halloween Candy e potevano contenere:

• 1 Golden Ticket (5% di probabilità)
• da 1 a 25 CROP tokens (35% di probabilità)
• da 1 a 50 Halloween Candy (60% di probabilità)

Per guadagnare il massimo numero di Halloween Candy ho selezionato e venduto una parte dei crop ottenuti durante l'autunno prima del 1 dicembre invece di aspettare l'ultimo giorno della stagione come di faccio invece di solito.

Grazie alle operazioni di gioco che ho completato nel periodo 31 ottobre - 1 dicembre ho guadagnato 956 Halloween Candy.

Ho scelto di non tentare la fortuna per ottenere i Golden Tokens e ho scelto di scambiare i punti Halloween Candy con:

• 50 Mystery Seed
• 10 Ferti-Plus
• 10 Speed-Gro

I Mystery Seed mi permetteranno di massimizzare l'utilizzo dei miei Land Plots nelle stagioni in cui e se avrò un numero di semi da piantare minore del numero dei miei Land plots.

It's time to open 20 beta packs

Ho deciso di non venderne i crop che ho ottenuto dal 1 dicembre ad oggi perchè voglio aumentare il quantitativo di crops che ho nel mio inventory per completare agevolmente le quests stagionali.

E' da tempo che seguo la strategia di non vendere tutti i crops che ottengo durante una stagione e cerco di conservare 6 crops per ogni tipo di crop e per ogni tipo di rarità (1-2-3 stelle).

La mia strategia però non è più sufficiente perchè da due stagioni a questa parte sono state introdotte le nuove missioni che riguardano gli NFT dell'edizione Beta mentre prima le quests riguardavano solo missioni relative agli NFT dell'edizione Alpha che sono gli NFT in maggior numero nella mia collezione.

Proprio le quests stagionali sono state il motivo principale che mi ha convinto ad aprire oggi 35 pacchi Beta.
Nei mesi passati ho quasi sempre completato in modo agevole le quests stagionali tranne nelle ultime due stagioni e infatti nella stagione che sta per terminare ho completato solo 3 quests su 7 e per ricevere le ricompense di fine stagioni è necessario completarle tutte e 7.

C'è l'opzione Reroll ma eseguirla più di 4-5 volte non è un operazione conveniente secondo me perchè il costo è di 10 CROP tokens per ogni reroll.
Preferisco quindi aprire una parte dei miei pacchi Beta e anche se diminuirà la mia riconpensa Holding Rewards avrò una maggiore probabilità di completare le quests stagionali senza dover utilizzare la funzione Reroll.

Dalla sezione OPEN di dCrops è possibile aprire solo 5 pacchi alla volta e le probabilità di trovare una leggendaria sono solo dell'1% per carta.

Questo vuol dire che 1 carta su 100 è in media una leggendaria.
Io ho 40 pacchi Beta e ho quindi un potenziale di 120 carte da scoprire perchè ogni pacco Beta contiene 3 carte di cui una sarà almeno Rara.

Con 40 pacchi Beta a disposizione ho deciso di aprire un minimo di 20 pacchi.
Ho deciso di aprire 5 pacchi alla volta e ho deciso di fermarmi solo quando avrò trovato una carta leggendaria che potrei trovare nei primi pacchi oppure negli ultimi.
Ovviamente spero di essere baciato dalla fortuna e spero di trovare più di una leggendaria anche se le probabilità non sono dalla mia parte e potrei anche essere molto sfortunato e non trovare nemmeno una carta leggendaria...

Ho aperto 30 pacchi ma di carte leggendarie nemmeno l'ombra...vediamo i prossimi 5 pacchi

Siiii!!! Al 34° pacco aperto e proprio alla 100sima carta scoperta trovo una carta leggendaria.

Ho trovato la mia prima carta di tipo Tree che una volta piantata diventerà un albero di pesche

L'unico problema è che per piantare un NFT di tipo Tree devo avere un Land plot di tipo leggendario e io non ho Land di tipo leggendario.

Devo ancora valutare cosa fare, se comprare un NFT Land di tipo leggendario o se vendere la carta leggendaria che ho appena trovato.

Ma questo sarà un piacevole dubbio da risolvere perchè qualunque scelta farò, oggi ho trovato una carta il cui valore di mercato è molto alto!

Nel mercato non ci sono Peach Seed in vendita (altro elemento posivito) e gli altri Tree Seed in vendita hanno tutti valori di mercato superiori a 111 HIVE.

Bene sono soddisfatto delle carte che ho trovato e mi fermo qui con l'apertura dei pacchi Beta.
Ho diminuito il numero dei pacchi in mio possesso, adesso ho 23 pacchi Alpha e solo 5 pacchi Beta ma ho aumentato il numero di NFTs che posso utilizzare durante le stagioni di dCrops.

Nuova stagione e Nuove quests

Ho deciso di aprire i pacchi Beta per avere una maggiore probabilità di completare le quests senza premere il tasto Reroll e con la stagione invernale appena iniziata è il momento di verificare se le nuove quests saranno per me facili da completare o meno.

Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere le quests che devo completare nella stagione invernale.

La prima quest richiede di piantare 4 Cabbage seeds.
Ho 6 Cabbage seeds nella mia collezione e quindi "no problem"!

La seconda quest richiede di vendere 1 Pumpkin di qualità 3 stelle che è un crop non ottenibile in inverno ma in autunno.

Purtroppo non ho Pumpkin di qualità tre stelle nel mio inventario e quindi devo utilizzare la funzionalità Reroll e spendere 10 CROP tokens.

La nuova seconda quest richiede: Plant 2 Parsley seeds.

Non avevo Parsley seeds prima di aprire i pacchi Beta ma ora ho 5 Parsley seeds e posso completare anche questa quest facilmente.

La terza quest richiede: Sell 3 Bell Pepper di qualità 2 stelle.

Ho un seme Bell Pepper da piantare nella stagione invernale che produrrà almeno 35 crops e ho anche 3 crops Bell Pepper di qualità due stelle nel mio inventario e quindi posso completare subito anche questa quest.

La quarta quest richiede: Plant 3 Onion seeds
Purtroppo ho solo 1 NFT Onion e quindi devo spendere altri 10 CROP tokens per fare il Reroll.

La nuova quarta quest richiede Sell 3 Sunflower (2 stelle).

Ho solo 3 Sunflower (1 stella) nel mio inventario e devo rifare il Reroll :(

Fortunatamente ricevo una quest che posso completare!

Ti piace il meccanismo di Reroll?
A me piace dCrops ma il meccanismo di Reroll NO, non mi piace proprio!
Personalmente avrei preferito un costo maggiore di Reroll ma con un Reroll con la garanzia di ricevere una quest completabile.

La quinta quest richiede Harvest 4 Onion crops.

Ho solo 1 NFT Onion ma da un singolo harvest riceverò 7 crops e quindi potrò completare facilmente anche questa quest.

La sesta quest richiede Harvest 4 Cilantro crops

Ho 4 NFTs Cilantro che producono 8 crops e quindi potrò completare anche la sesta quest.

La settima quest richiede Plant 1 Peas seeds e ho tanti Peas e quindi posso completarla senza problemi.

Bene per questo post è tutto, con l'apertura di 35 pacchi Beta ho migliorato di molto le mie probabilità presenti e future di completare le quests stagionali e questo era il primo obiettivo che volevo raggiungere.
Aprendo 35 pacchi Beta ho ridotto il mio Crop Power e di conseguenza saranno più piccole di valore le ricompense Holding Rewards che riceverò nei prossimi giorni ma dall'altro lato ho aumentato la mia capacità produttiva che mi farà guadagnare più ricompense da giocatore attivo.
La carta leggendaria che ho trovato oggi è stata una bella sorpresa e la valutazione di quello che farò con l'NFT Peach seed sarà l'argomento di un mio futuro post su dCrops.
