I do not want to use a dramatic title for this post, because it might attract the "headliners" (the people who click because the title of the post is gossipy), so the title may be crazy
I noticed that two accounts I follow on Hive have not been posting as frequently. The first account has not posted in over a week, and the second has completely stopped posting after engaging in a flag war with a few major accounts on Hive.
I noticed this because the two accounts produce high-quality crypto content, which I consume on a daily basis.
I am not sure why the first person stopped posting; perhaps it was personal issues, or they were not feeling well physically, or something more serious. They have rarely missed a posting in over 5 to 6 years, and I am sure it was not because of the market's state or condition.
I know I should have checked their account to see if they were still active but not posting, but I didn't.
The second person, as I previously stated, stopped posting because they got into a flag war. I really didn't see a reason for them to get downvoted for just a small mistake that could have been corrected with a few "I'm sorry" but it's what it is.
We know that Hive owners/stakeholders can be very emotional, and instead of resolving issues, they choose downvotes, and as a result, this person no longer posts. I will have to see if they are getting angry and choosing to power down, or if they just want to wait it out.
I understand that powering down is how most people respond to downvotes, and even if this person is an OG on Hive, he is still human and can react by powering down.
About two to three years back two or three accounts collided in a triple thread match to downvote my posts to zero. The first account started earlier, and went on rampage for a few months, before inviting his friends, they also did the number on me, and DV'ed me for a few months.
They enjoyed doing it because they could and no one could stopped them. But, powering down is the last thing I'll ever do.
I've been here for over seven years, and DVs won't chase me out, but in reality it has this psychological thing it does to a person, especially when you'reDVing them to zero without them doing anything to harm the chain.
I am used to emotional and physical blackmail; my childhood was filled with it, and I have had people bully me as a child or teenager and I was powerless to stop them. So I believe I learned how to cope with abuse at a young age and eventually developed thick skin.
I want to test a theory on the second account that has been DV'ed for discussing a contentious issue on Hive; I want to see how they will respond to these downvotes. I believe they no longer post because the DV is affecting them.
They attempted to post in the last seven days, and this group of people alsoDV'ed them, so I am curious how they will emotionally react to this, whether they will want to leave or return stronger.
I really wish we did not have to send them away permanently.
The account has been posting here for a long time, and they are also invested here, so I am not sure what will happen, and I am hoping these guys will put down their swords and realize they are DVing someone who has been here for a long time through various market conditions. I hope they can act like adults and realize that the chain comes first, before their egos.
As I previously stated, I would like to continue watching. Many people do not understand what it is like to be in an emotionally difficult situation, knowing something is wrong but having no power or control over it.
We tend to underestimate how sadness, pain, and happiness affect our overall mental health. Many people on Hive have not been DV'ed unjustifiably, so it is easier for them to believe it is normal until they experience it for themselves.
Personally, I have had a difficult few days and have been struggling significantly. These are personal life issues that 99% of people cannot relate to, so I keep these struggles to myself.
As for the first account, I hope they can resume posting soon, and that nothing serious or life-threatening has happened to them, as life can be unpredictable.

Struggle is a part of life. I always think no matter what the situation is it's all about the part of journey.
I agree as well
Yeah these things are weird situations. I’ve seen a few people just up and disappear one day and have never been back. Really sad because they were solid users! Ultimately this is the online world and the physical takes precedence over this, so people do what they have to.
The down vote thing is incredibly difficult and frustrating. I know there’s a lot of “freedom” to do with your stake what your want but the people who bully others for months on end with down votes because they have a significantly higher stake than someone else, and just do it to be spiteful are frustrating. Have a disagreement and zero out one MAYBE two posts but let bygone’s be bygones and leave them alone. If they aren’t a scammer just don’t look? Really wild dude!
At the same time reflexive power down when you get a little disagreement is pretty silly too. Have a little more of a spine to ya!
You're absolutely right when you say this. Infact this is bitter truth. Sometimes people can just disappear afterall the real world is where real life problems can take over or have a significant impact on how we show up here. Perhaps a time will come where we will all be less present here and even everywhere else too.
As for the downvoters. It's really saddening. I wish there are things that can be done for people to understand that they can settle things without choosing chronic downvoting.
Unfortunately the second poster is a legit member of this chain from 2017 I think and shouldn't be treated that way.
I have also experienced down votes in the past and I tell you that the experience was emotional draining. I didn't even know what I did until I started asking questions and I heard that a whale voting my post was in an issue with another whale, so once he upvote me and others, his enemy whale 🐋 will follow suit with a down vote.. lolz
A lot of people here are being downvoted unjustifiably and it's a concern. I mean, is there not a room for warning and adjustments prior to downvote?
It hurts more when you are downvoted without even a word. Like u don't even know what u did and boom downvote. So staying away from what caused you the down vote became a hassle because apparently, you are in the dark.
As long as I understand that dv is part of the hive ecosystem, I believe people should be told the reason for their dv at least to desist from it. DV can be discouraging, maybe that's why the account u mentioned here stopped posting for now
Yeah, I remember when marky and one other whale were having downvotes retaliation. They say when two elephants fight, it's actually the grass that suffers the most. Mine lasted for over 4 months and it was downvote till zero. It happened to many and most of them left the Blockchain, but this isn't me. A DV can never chase me as I've been here over 7 years and know all these things
Downvote to zero? That's really terrible, and for good 4 months?
Wow...I can't imagine how u felt those days but good enough, you stayed
That's admirable,Joe
I feel bad for the first person, and people disappearing happens alot, and real life is more important. It always feel bad to see a good content creator leave, but I wish them the best of luck.
As for the second person, I have seen quite a few people leave or stop posting due to it. I don't like it, but downvotes are a reason why Hive is still working out well today.
Yes, these downvotes protect hive a lot and I wish we can learn how to be communicative and civil when it comes to DVs. Perhaps it'll help people to get used to it, especially when we choose to communicate more.
@tipu curate
Upvoted 👌 (Mana: 33/63) Liquid rewards.
Thanks a million
I hope they return too soon. It's a shame to see anyone disappearing over downvotes, and people really should try to resolve issues by talking before declaring a downvote war. Hive desperately needs more fresh talent and sharp minds to expand and grow the chain. I'm glad you stuck out that very hard time, it couldn't have been easy.
Hang in there, life throws us a lot of stress and curveballs all the time in my experience!
I think it affects the mind. I've seen people go ballistic and do outrageous things because of DV. I responded well during my time because I've been here long enough not to rage quit and power down, no one can make me do that here. Unfortunately it's not everyone who can bear going through a DV for months. People can be callous when it comes to DV
I also noticed some people either posting very rarely or not at all recently, from the ones that usually had something to say, very well articulated too.
It's unfortunate, maybe the general crypto situation or economic worries have something to do with this. Health issues could happen too, as you also mentioned, but let's hope it's not the case.
The Liotes guys had a mission recently about motivation, which seems appropriate in the context... Maybe they lost motivation, and they need to get it back somehow.
You're right. Motivation could be a thing, but I don't think it could have been motivation since these two guys have constantly posted for over 5 years without much break in between. However, I think I'll be looking at their accounts to see if they're active. Surely the first guy stoped posting because of DVs, but the second one must've been something entirely different.
It feels weird to not have people who knows what they're posting not to be active as before.
I think you sould try reaching them on discord maybe to know how they feel and try to encourage them. hive is a beautiful thing i know sometimes it might get frustrating but ignoring that part is the best thing to do.
The DV I got was in the past. The people I talked about, only one person is getting DV
yah i know, maybe you should try reach out to him
Powering down your hive will only serve to empower those who use hive nefariously.
Well, basically that's the first reaction for whose are immediately DV'ed and I guess they won't think otherwise
Downvotes like that can really mess with someone’s motivation, especially when it feels personal. It’s sad to see good creators pushed out just because a few people hold the power
A few people don't hold power. Rather these group of people had issues with this particular creator and then they downvoted his stuffs.
oh then that's good to know that there's more people with power. In my Hive journey I'm looking forward to being part of the people with the power 💪 thanks for the correction man
I also hope the first account resume posting soon, for the second account, I think misunderstandings are unavoidable, people will always have differing opinions but this doesn't imply one is right and the other is wrong. Everything is relative.
The account that suffered the DV must've just been discouraged but might probably start posting at some point, but I hope they don't leave the Blockchain because of all that DV

Awww
That’s sad
I can imagine missing them though
I just feel handling this issues with wisdom and patience than downvoting could be better
It’s painful to put in time and effort into a good content and get a reverse result
Well since am here now (itching ears) hahah. Ama hand around to see you write on how they bounced back hopefully
Am one of your readers now
Hehehe
So expect me often 😂
