Anyone can be unlucky.

I follow a Facebook page where people with various medical conditions can share their stories with the world.

I saw a story about a woman who was born with one kidney, two uteruses, no stomach, no normal airway, and required multiple surgeries to feed, breathe, and live.

I watched her mother describe how the ultrasound when she was pregnant with the lady was very strange, and they thought the child would die.

I read about another person who had a degenerative skin condition, and the doctor basically told her that the condition would kill her, and that it would only worsen over time. I witnessed another person's growth being stunted as a result of a chemotherapy reaction, and it had a significant impact on them.

While the population of people suffering from chronic or terminal conditions is estimated to be 2 to 5% of the world's population, it is mind-boggling to experience complex and multiple chronic conditions and be plagued by questions like "why me?"

You start to wonder why you are not part of the larger population that is healthier.

It makes you feel extremely left out

Sadly, life can leave anyone behind

I have seen a lot of videos of people with very serious health conditions, and it is sometimes a sad reality that they will have to watch their condition deteriorate while they have no control over it.

Consider how dangerous diabetes can be; when treated early, people live relatively healthy lives; however, with genetic, neurological, or other chronic conditions, you can eat the best food and take all precautions, and nothing will happen. Nothing hurts more than looking ahead and seeing only the impending sadness.

It can be the sadness of not being able to accept that life is cruel, or the emotional trauma of others having one or two things to say about you. Web2 social app is a particularly toxic environment.

When people see something strange or witness another person's suffering and pain, instead of being empathetic and grateful that they do not have to deal with that person's problems, they begin to laugh, mock, and ask strange questions.

Many people in life suffer from various types of painful health conditions; being poor is a different kind of pain. Poor people are frequently ignored, excluded, and denied opportunities in life due to a lack of funds.

Being unhealthy, on the other hand, causes inner pain because it is both physical and mental. Let us be honest: people have different types of painful life experiences, and some are worse than others.

We have a way of coping by remembering that there are people who have it even worse, and the people who have it the worst are the ones whose pain cannot be truly understood, because, let us face it, we only know or understand what we have experienced.

Why me?

I've discovered that the "why me" question of trying to place logic or meaning to why things happen is of no use. I understand that sometimes people crave clarity because clarity brings closure; however, life is not meant to give everyone closure; there are questions that cannot be answered, and we will continue to seek answers without receiving any.

I believe that people should understand that good health, genetics, good looks, bad looks, and everything else are not determined by them; people inherit good looks, while another person may inherit bad looks.

Empathy

Sometimes we are fortunate, and sometimes we are unlucky, which is why I believe people should choose to be grateful instead. Life could easily have dealt them a bad hand, but they were saved.

I believe that if everyone begins to feel this way, they will be more empathetic toward others; no one is inferior or superior because of circumstances beyond their control.

Jose, things are happening and reading the first story of that woman with no stomach, etc, chai, I cant imagine how she had been coping. A lot is happening and the question, why me? can never be answered because some questions are left without clarity and that is it. This is why we are advised to be grateful of our situation. Only God understands.

She had no stomach, only one kidney, two urethra and even no reproductive system as well. She underwent multiple surgery to be alive, so I think perfectly healthy people takes the gift of life for granted all the time.

Yea, they do. We don't understand the gift of good health until we see for ourselves how some people are getting by with bad health.

Life isn't fair, and I think there are quite a few people with horrible conditions. It reminds me of the current drama situation involving IronMouse and VShoujo going on. Just be glad you aren't suffering, but I think that there are still those out there who will help out people. The IDF charity is for people with immune system problems, and the company scammed half a million dollars. Well, the company has more issues than scamming out of charity money as people weren't paid as well. I just think that while the situation can be bad, there will be people out to help as IronMouse put out a charity link and it raised over a million, which was over double what was scammed.

I just think that any charitable venture put up for people who are going through issues are always going to be exploited, this is why I think people who want to raise funds for those who are unwell should contact a reliable source, rather than giving it to a particular agency or body

that's true, it's natural to think why me? because you see all others with normal lifes

but i always say, it's statistics, even if there is a 0,001% chance of something, that has to happen to someone sooner or later... die because a meteor hits you on the head? it happened to someone... die giving birth to your children, it's rare but it has a statistic change so someone has to die sooner or later...

I understand you and I agree, people can actually die no matter their history. Sometimes it doesn't even have to do with their health, having a good or bad health I mean. However we live in a world where we have healthier people who take pleasure in mocking those that aren't.

Mocking who's not healthy is so childish

That's why is good to be grateful for whatever situations we found ourselves, alots is really happening in this world we're! If you re thinking God is not doing good to you, and you see another person situation, then you will know that God really likes you. There are lots of experiences I've seen so far on people's health conditions. I could remember a time like that, that I went to hospital to visit a friend and I saw someone's condition and I started crying for the person while the person is still alive. Since that day, I always thank God for my life.

Yes, we can cope and find solace knowing that someone, somewhere might even be going through something that is even far worse than we can imagine.

Yeah! That is it

I couldn't hold my tears as I read this content, some people are really going through a lot health wise and it's so unfortunate that nothing can be done about the whole situation in this old system of things.

I always tell people like me who have chronic illnesses to manage to trust in God because He will act on our behalf soon.

Yes, I also look to God for my situations as well, especially when there are no answers anywhere, and there's nothing you can do.

And honestly He's the best place to place your hope because He doesn't disappoint

Greetings @josediccus ,

So true....Gratitude for what we do have is key....Well said.

Your post brought to mind the contrast between human viewpoint and The Divine Viewpoint of any given situation making all the difference...with The Divine Viewpoint giving us not only confidence in His will and purpose but gratitude for opportunity to trust in Him.

Enjoyed reading your post.

Cheers, Bleujay
