Wisdom

The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.

The quote may look a bit confusing, and that's because we expect someone who is believed to be wise to know a lot. Unfortunately it's the opposite. If we take a deeper look at it, we'll find the truth in it, this is because a wise man strives to increase in learning. He's never satisfied in what he knows but open to knowing more and learning from whoever he comes across. Whoever is truly wise is hungry to learn and that's what differentiate one who's wise indeed and one who claims to be wise.

Unlike the wise, the unwise thinks that he knows everything. They are eager to show off and spread the word of their brilliance. To them they know more than others because of their level of education or studies but fail to realize that learning never ends. As long as we live, we learn and learning can come from anyone regardless of age. Whoever thinks that he knows everything, he knows nothing and yet to be known. When we boast of our knowledge, it hinders us from learning further, rather it fills one with pride until his ignorance is seen in the public.

True wisdom comes from one's ability to tame the feeling of showing off, and embrace humility to learn. The wise know that learning never ends, and he's open to learning new things , dropping his shame and title and embracing what truly comes. It's not about what one knows, but one's ability and zeal to keep knowing.
