People: Not all that glitter is gold

Sometimes the people we should fear the most, should be the ones closest to us.

The statement may look unrealistic or more of a joke until someone so close betrays you. Unfortunately, it's the place of comfort, where we feel relaxed to pour out our plans and secrets that turns out to be our very misery. This year had been more of a lesson to me than the smooth rollercoaster ride I had expected. It's more like a year packed with everything I've been dumbed about, but learning them all in a hard way. Maybe for the coming years I'd be glad for everything I will and I've learned this year.

Do you ever get curious why sometimes a friend wants to know everything that happens in your life? Not all of these concerns genuinely mean caring, sometimes they want to be sure you're not doing well. I have always wanted an introverted life where I bear every pain and success to myself, but unfortunately there are people called friends we want to share some of this joy and pain with, only to realize they act to care but deep down all they pursue is what they seek to gain.

Maybe a secret is meant to remain a secret, unless otherwise such a friend has been tested in matters of secrecy. Not all friends are indeed friends, just as not all that glitters are gold. Who they are is revealed with time and in certain situations where they have nothing to profit from you. Until you identify the gold, keep sensitive information away from all that glitters.
