Despite the not-so-encouraging news read on Discord by @stradaxlaliberta regarding the future of this game, after over 1 year and 9 months I’m still stubbornly continuing my activity on Golem Overlord.

This idle game has not only received numerous updates over time that have made it increasingly fun and complex, but also introduced several months ago a new mode, Conquest, which allows players to face off in PvP battles. This has further expanded the game mechanics and made the title more than just a simple idle game.

I’ve said it many times in the past: Golem Overlord definitely deserved much more success than it received, as it’s truly one of the best games on Hive—and I still firmly believe that today.

That’s also why I never stopped playing it, logging in twice a day, every day—morning and evening—to claim my resources and play a few matches in Conquest mode. For many months now, I’ve consistently ranked among the top 25 Conquest players, earning various rewards like Golems, Advisors, and ANIMA tokens.

Over time, I’ve also earned quite a few HIVE tokens through this game, and I’d be lying if I said that wasn’t another reason I never stopped playing.

After a first year in which it was tough to even recoup a single HIVE of my investment in the game—28 of the 29 HIVE required to start playing back then were provided by @forykw, the leader of the "Do You Even Cry" guild, which I’m part of—things drastically changed. As my rank improved, so did the rewards I could earn.

Today, I’m ranked 627 on the global leaderboard, with over one million one hundred twenty thousand PART tokens burned.

My prestige has reached level 27 and, thanks to the daily challenges I complete, I frequently earn rewards that I can sell on the market for several HIVE.

The ANIMA tokens I earn from the Conquest mode, along with some of the SHARD tokens I don’t use to redeem rewards, I periodically convert into HIVE, further boosting my earnings.

Over the last 9–10 months, I’ve earned and sold many items and tokens, which has allowed me to earn hundreds of HIVE.

To find out exactly how much, I had to write a script that would tell me how much I’ve earned from both selling items on the market and converting ANIMA and SHARD tokens.

From the total, I then subtracted the cost of the Golemancer's Staff—even though, as I mentioned, I technically only paid 1 HIVE for it—as well as the amounts I’ve reinvested in the game over time.

Earned 368.63 SWAP.HIVE from market sales (220.48 SWAP.HIVE) and swaps (148.15 SWAP.HIVE)
Earned 6.07 from SHARD sold through the market
Earned 85.45 from ANIMA sold through the market
Earned 460.15 SWAP.HIVE in total

The total ended up being over 460 HIVE!

An amount I find truly remarkable, especially considering that:

• I spend an average of 3–4 minutes a day on this game
• I earned almost all of it in less than a year
• the game is fun!

Digging a bit deeper into these earnings, it turns out that:

• selling items has been the most profitable activity, with over 220 HIVE earned
• the Conquest mode has introduced another significant source of income, with over 85 HIVE earned from that mode alone—not counting the dozens and dozens of HIVE I reinvested to buy the Golems I own

Finding out the exact amount of my earnings was fun and confirmed what I already knew: I’m glad I started playing Golem Overlord, and I hope its future turns out better than it seems today.

In any case, no matter how things go, I had fun… and I also earned some HIVE! :)

Nonostante le non troppe rosee notizie lette su Discord da @stradaxlaliberta in merito al futuro di questo gioco, dopo oltre 1 anno e 9 mesi proseguo imperterrito la mia attività su Golem Overlord.

Questo idle game nel tempo ha infatti non solo ricevuto numerosi aggiornamenti che lo hanno reso sempre più divertente e profondo, ma alcuni mesi fa ha anche introdotto una nuova modalità, Conquest, che consente ai giocatori di sfidarsi in battaglie PvP, espandendo ulteriormente le meccaniche di gioco e rendendo il titolo più di un semplice idle game.

In passato ho detto più volte che Golem Overlord avrebbe sicuramente meritato molto più successo di quello che ha ottenuto, dato che si tratta a tutti gli effetti di uno dei migliori giochi presenti su Hive, e ancora oggi sono della stessa opinione.

E' anche per questo che non ho mai smesso di giocarci, continuando ogni giorno a loggarmi due volte, mattina e sera, per fare il claim delle mie risorse e giocare qualche partita nella modalità Conquest, dove da parecchi mesi riesco sempre a piazzarmi fra i 25 migliori giocatori ottenendo vari premi, come Golem, Advisor e token ANIMA.

Nel tempo, però, ho anche guadagnato diversi HIVE grazie a questo gioco e mentirei se non dicessi che questa è un'altra delle ragioni per cui non ho mai smesso di giocarci.

Dopo un primo anno in cui era stato difficile riguadagnare anche solo il singolo HIVE che avevo investito nel gioco - 28 dei 29 HIVE all'epoca necessari per iniziare a giocare mi erano stati forniti da @forykw, il leader della Gilda "Do You Even Cry", di cui faccio parte - le cose sono poi drasticamente cambiate e, via via che il mio rank aumentava, così sono aumentate le ricompense che potevo ottenere.

Oggi occupo la posizione 627 della classifica generale, con oltre un milione e centoventimila token PART bruciati.

Il mio prestigio ha raggiunto il livello 27 e, grazie alle sfide che completo, ottengo abbastanza spesso premi che posso rivendere sul mercato per diversi HIVE.

I token ANIMA che ottengo dalla modalità Conquest, così come parte dei token SHARD che non utilizzo per riscattare ricompense, li converto periodicamente in HIVE, andando così ad incrementare ulteriormente i miei guadagni.

Nel corso degli ultimi 9-10 mesi ho guadagnato e venduto tanti oggetti e token e questo mi ha permesso di guadagnare centinaia di HIVE.

Per scoprire esattamente quanti HIVE ho dovuto scrivere uno script che mi consentisse di sapere quanto ho guadagnato sia dalla vendita degli oggetti sul mercato, sia dalla conversione dei token ANIMA e SHARD.

Dal totale ho poi sottratto il costo della Golemancer's Staff - anche se, come ho detto, tecnicamente l'ho pagata solo 1 HIVE - nonchè quelle somme che nel tempo ho reinvestito nel gioco.

Il totale è risultato essere superiore a 460 HIVE!

Un ammontare che ritengo davvero notevole, soprattutto considerato che:

• dedico di media 3-4 minuti al giorno a questo gioco
• li ho guadagnati quasi tutti in meno di 1
• il gioco mi diverte!

Andando ad analizzare più nello specifico questi guadagni viene fuori che:

• la vendita degli oggetti è l'attività che mi ha fruttato di più, con oltre 220 HIVE guadagnati
• la modalità Conquesti ha introdotto un'altra importante fonte di guadagno, con oltre 85 HIVE guadagnati solo in quella modalità, e questo senza considerare le decine e decine di HIVE che ho reinvestito per comprare i Golem che possiedo

Scoprire l'ammontare esatto dei miei guadagni è stato divertente e ha confermato quel che già sapevo: sono contento di aver iniziato a giocare a Golem Overlord e mi auguro che il suo futuro possa essere migliore di quello che appare oggi.

In ogni caso, a prescindere di come andrà, io mi sono divertito... e ho anche guadagnato un po' di HIVE! :)
