In the UK our postal service is traditionally provided by the Royal Mail.
This is a little post box a couple of minutes of walk away from our house.
I did take the picture on Friday 11th July and you can see that blue sky, yes we are in a mini heatwave of a few days.
On the way back from the beach yesterday we saw another post box..
Does it look like it is in a wall to you?
Let's have a look...
Oh look it in the wall of a local convenience shop, which is also red! Oh look this is a twofor!!!
Seeing I mentioned the beach, let's have a look at some different red things!
The gorgeous weather over the last few days have brought plenty of sea activities.
And this lady had a few positions up her sleeve!
and my favourite which shows the colour of the paddleboard most clearly ...
There was another red one, and to show I am not sexist ...
His red paddleboard in my detail!
We may as well stay at the beach and see what finds we saw!
Even Mrs T was getting in on the act of looking for red objects!
Look she said ...
She loves to look for sea glass and pottery shards. We are not on an archaeological site so probably these are not sherds as such, but it is a fun term to say.
Both pictures were taken on Friday as were the paddleboard pictures.
I wonder if you can choose which red I was looking at from this next picture which was also taken on Friday...
No , not the dress or behind!
The car ... what used to be so iconic for being British was MG
That logo .. MG
Yes, MG (Morris Garages) is historically and fundamentally a British automotive marque.
It was founded by Cecil Kimber in the 1920s in Oxford, England, as a sales promotion sideline of Morris Garages, a retail sales and service center for William Morris. MG quickly became famous for its open two-seater sports cars, which became icons of British motoring.
Of course now like so many things that were British it is owned by foreigners, this time Chinese in 2005 I think...
Talking of foreigners we walked around the corner and saw this foreign red car...
And in front of us, is a beat up relic of the past, and was back in the idea so iconic of the UK...
You know that is ?
I think it is fitting to close out the post with the fifth object being a depiction of love ...
I did take this yesterday, it is our local heart at the end of the promenade.
It was created a couple of years ago...
View from the sea
This is with the haar rolling in from the sea ...
Take it looking inland and there is no haar!
But wait ... bonus time, we did go looking for red things on our walks on Friday 11th July and Saturday 12th July 2025, so these are some that never made the cut!!!
Matilda nearly threw her gin at me when saw that photograph!!!
I did freeze some berries earlier in the week ...
This post though, is an entry for this month's Photo-essay RED contest ! hosted by @hive-14396 in the fantastic Photo-Essay community on Hive.
Get your entries posted before August 1st 2025
But wait! Guess who has popped her head in....
Matilda and she is waving her fluffing spoons to stir the pot!!
One more thing.... as it is Sunday today and a gorgeous day to be alive , this is also for #SublimeSunday is inspired by @c0ff33a and #BeautifulSunday is initiated by @ace108.

Now that is a lot of red! Those pottery pieces are pretty cool, sea worn smooth and everything. Are they just lying in the sand after high tide? That's cool!
That was a pretty sweet red car, but I wouldn't pay for it. I'm too tall for most sports cars, I feel like a sardine even in a Porche! I liked the red flowers, but best of all had to be the raspberries. I love raspberries!
That's a great selection of red items. I guess you never really pay attention to just how much red is all around you until you take the time to take some pictures, and maybe smell the roses along the way!
The pottery shards are in the sand. There used to be pottery kilns on Kirkcaldy years ago, and alot of it has washed down to the shore and got broken up. Likewise from the dumps you have glass bottles and also some from passing boats. As each tide moves things get buried and uncovered again.
Ah yes I remember your no go with sportscars or cramped cars lol.
Raspberries are my favourite fruit by a mile. And the only sauce I would allow on my 99 ice cream cone is raspberry sauce lol!
Nice call on the raspberry sauce! Here in the US you have to be careful about collecting anything in the water because it belongs to the government. If it's on the sand it's fair game, as long as it's not a protected archeological site which is common where remains of old Native American pottery are found.

Ow, you also got a red classic car for the RED initiative! Cool 😎 Hahah, the red spoons are funny haha, stirring the
ingredientsred items in this post 😉hehe yes I try and have a bit of humour in my posts, so Matilda just had to pop in and stir the red items, I like that :)
Agree with you: the girl looked better than the guy on the board! I love red and think it looks great on me, but red in this country is a color that is associated with government, so I wear it very little. By the way, speaking of foreigners: that's Trump walking in front of the store? hahaha. A very scarlet presentation!!! A colorful hug for you 🌸
The guy was pretty good and was there earlier. The guy was with his friend and they arrived later. He nearly fell in a couple of times and were quite close to us in the water. Haha Trump is back in Scotland soon, so don't you go wishing him here please! A regal hug to you Nancy :)
Wow! So many red stuff! Matilda must have had a field day with you 😂😂
Hehe there is loads of red, and that is just over this weekend, my phone has loads of pics that didn't even make it to the bonus list let alone from my gallery of past days!
Ah she always does.
Damn it! You have those. What did you do with your camera?

Magic thank you, that was a fun post!
with that amount of time spend in the sunshine i guess you must look red too by now 😂 , like a lobster well done .
!PIMP
lol I tan , not your typical British person 🤣
Not to mention I put on that sunscream!
That's a load of red objects, lovely photos too!
I must say the lady looks way more at home on the paddle board, the guy looks very unsure :)
I love the telephone booth and the post box; we no longer see any of those here! Weird that stuff that was so important just a couple of decades ago has now become almost obsolete in many parts of the world!
The guy was not as experienced, I heard him once saying he nearly fell in. They passed us a few times as we were paddling in the water for an hour lol. It is not called the long town for nothing!
Yes how times change even in a couple of decades Lizzie!

Sexy bum that MG had, pity the Brits never stuck to manufacturing, would have been in a better way today methinks.
Second eye-candy the red clock tower, now that is a first, red post boxes all gone over here along with postal services I'm sad to say.
