Parque del Langostino de Vinaroz // Vinaroz Prawn Park

(edited)

Hola querido hiver.

Hi, dear hiver.

As I'm still recovering from a bad flu that nobody told me to take, my energy level is low. It's just enough for me to fulfil my usual curating duties at Hive, but I couldn't let the week go by without sharing some pictures.

Today's theme is light and refreshing, as much as a.... prawn! Yes, friends, in Vinaroz they are so proud of the quality of their crustaceans that they are determined to spread their fame around the world. And the local sculptor José Luis Ferrer Ferreres, aka "Ferr", has created this nice piece of work that does not go unnoticed.

The sculpture is the main protagonist of the surrounding park. This is an area of recent residential construction that preserves the remains of factories and industrial buildings, such as some chimneys.

The face you see in the centre of the photograph is a very interesting mural. You can learn more about it in this post where I shared examples of urban art in Vinaroz.

Next to the monument of the langoustine is the bullring, which separates the park from the port, which is just on the other side of what you see in this picture.

And this is the end of today's post, brief but curious.

Until the next post. In the meantime, take care!
