Prospecting

Yes, this morning we were traveling for prospecting.
We got stuck in a terrible traffic jam that cost us almost an hour.
Once we arrived, I quickly realized that nothing had been prepared. The guy clearly didn't know what he wanted, if he wanted or needed it, or even if he could afford it.
I even had to explain to him the principles of cost-effectiveness of delegated time:

You only delegate a task to someone when the cost of doing so is less than the cost of the core business task. By delegating these tasks to someone, the professional can spend more time on more profitable ones, and thus earn a return that exceeds the cost of delegating.
I saw his eyes sparkle at this point in the explanation; apparently, no one had explained it to him before.

So we're not going to say we wasted our time, but I think we could have made the most of this visit by doing it via video, but it's also a first experience for some of us.

The problem is that despite the rock-bottom price offered, he didn't seem particularly keen on the opportunity, but hey, time will tell what will happen with this visit.

I think I was useful on-site, even if it wasn't for my own business. A bit like a support or guide to help them reach an agreement or refocus the subject.

We also got a little walk, and that's something to recoup!

In short, I can't wait for the time when we too can delegate prospecting visits; that will mean we have enough clients, more profitable.

Prospection

Hé oui, ce matin c'était du déplacement pour prospection clientèle.
On s'est tapé un sacré bouchon qui nous a fait perdre, quasiment une heure,
Une fois sur place, je me suis très vite aperçu que rien était préparé. Le garçon ne savait clairement pas ce qu'il voulait, s'il en avaient envie ou besoin, ni même s'il savait se le permettre.
J'ai même du lui expliquer les principes de rentabilité des temps délégués :

On ne délègue une tâche à quelqu'un lorsque le coût de cette délégation est moindre que le coût de revient de la tâche principale. Ainsi en déléguant ces tâches à quelqu'un, le professionnel peut passer plus de temps sur les tâches plus rentable, et ainsi faire un retour supérieur au coût de la délégation. J'ai vu ses yeux pétiller à ce moment de l'explication, apparemment personne ne lui avait expliqué auparavant.

On ne va donc pas dire qu'on y a perdu notre temps, mais on aurait pu rentabiliser mieux cette visite en la faisant en visio je pense, mais cela fait aussi une première expérience pour certains d'entre nous.

Le soucis c'est que malgré le prix plancher proposé il ne semblait pas vraiment désireux de saisir l'occasion, mais bon, l'avenir nous dira ce qu'il adviendra de cette visite.

Je pense que j'étais utile sur place, même si ce n'était pas pour mon business propre. Un peu comme un soutien ou un guide pour les aider à s'entendre ou a recentrer le sujet.

Cela nous a aussi fait une petite promenade à pieds, et c'est toujours cela de récupéré !

Bref, vivement le temps où nous aussi, on pourra déléguer les visites de prospections, cela voudra dire qu'on a assez de clients plus rentable que pour gérer l'affaire en bon père de famille...
