As I mentioned in my last post about what I’ve been reading, I went straight on to the second volume of The Labours of Hercules.
Comme je l'avais annoncé lors de mon dernier article sur mes lectures, j'ai directement enchaîné avec le 2e tome des Travaux d'Hercule.

This second volume bears the same title as one of the stories featured in the first volume.
As I suspected, it is another version of that same story.
In Volume 1, we were treated to two versions of The Capture of Cerberus. Well, would you believe it, a version of this story is also included in this second volume.
I couldn’t say whether it’s identical to either of the two versions in Volume 1.
As for the rest of Volume 2, we’re also treated to a second version of several stories featured in Volume 1.
Ce deuxième tome porte le même nom qu'une des histoires présentes dans le premier tome.
Comme je m'en doutais, il s'agit d'une autre version de cette même histoire.
Dans le tome 1, nous avions eu droit à 2 versions de la Capture de Cerbère. Eh bien, figurez-vous qu'une version de cette histoire est également reprise dans ce tome 2.
Je ne saurais pas vous dire si elle est identique à une des 2 versions du tome 1.
Pour ce qui est du reste du tome 2, nous avons aussi droit à une deuxième version de plusieurs histoires figurant dans le tome 1.
I think that’s a shame, because it feels as though you’re reading the same book twice – or almost.
It takes away the far-fetched nature of the plots, as we already know how the story ends.
I wouldn’t recommend reading them one after the other, so that you can fully enjoy the plot all over again.
In any case, it was a bad idea to publish the same stories as ‘Volume 2’, because it encourages people to read it straight after Volume 1. I would have understood it better if they’d called it ‘The Labours of Hercules, New Version’.
Je trouve cela dommage, parce qu'on a l'impression de lire deux fois le même livre ou presque.
Cela enlève le côté tiré par les cheveux des intrigues, puisque nous connaissons déjà le fin mot de l'histoire.Je déconseille de les lire l'un à la suite de l'autre, afin de profiter pleinement, une nouvelle fois, de l'intrigue.
En tout cas, c'était une mauvaise idée de publier les mêmes histoires, en tant que "tome 2", parce que cela incite les gens à le lire à la suite du tome 1. J'aurais mieux compris qu'ils l'intitulent "Les Travaux d'Hercule, nouvelle version".
For my next read, I’m going to immerse myself in 17th-century London and France with the first volume of a series written by Mireille Calmel, whose previous series I’ve already enjoyed.
If I like the first volume, I’ll try to find the second, which is the final one, as it’s a two-part series.

Pour ma prochaine lecture, je vais me plonger au XVIIe siècle, à Londres et en France, dans un premier tome, écrit par Mireille Calmel, dont j'ai déjà pu apprécier des précédentes sagas.
