Synopsis :

Clark Kent, alias Superman, is already an adult and a journalist at the Daily Planet.
Lois Lane is already his girlfriend, but they are trying to keep it a secret from their colleagues.

Metahumans are already a common sight on Earth. Superman is much loved by humans, as he has saved countless lives.

Lex Luthor will try to discredit him in the eyes of humans, out of a desire for revenge, but Superman’s friends, including Mr Terrific and Green Lantern, still support him, as do a large proportion of the population.

My opinion and a few facts /Mon avis et petites infos :

This film is written and directed by James Gunn, co-chairman of DC Studios, alongside Peter Safran.

I didn’t really enjoy this film, which makes no mention of Clark Kent’s childhood or teenage years. What’s more, his relationship with Lois Lane is barely touched upon.
We do see a few monsters sent by Lex Luthor and civilians being protected from them by Superman, but something is missing – something that would bring us closer to the character.

Mr Terrific’s technical gadgets are well-made and interesting, though.
Seeing Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern is definitely worth it as well.

Cast:

David Corenswet: Clark Kent / Kal-El / Superman

Edi Gathegi: Michael Holt / Mister Terrific
Nathan Fillion: Guy Gardner / Green Lantern

The nod to Christopher Reeve, through his son’s appearance, is a nice touch, even though I only learnt about it whilst writing this article.

Did you enjoy this new version?

Have a lovely evening in front of the telly and see you soon,

Au casting :

David Corenswet : Clark Kent / Kal-El / Superman

Nathan Fillion : Guy Gardner / Green Lantern
Isabela Merced : Kendra Saunders / Hawkgirl

Florence
