During the second half of the month, we had a few appointments and just had to put up with the heat as best we could.
Pour cette 2e partie du mois, nous avions quelques rendez-vous et nous avons subi la chaleur comme nous le pouvions.

Avant d'aller chercher les courses, je me suis dit que ça faisait longtemps que nous n'avions pas mangé de corned beef et pour économiser une poêle à nettoyer, j'ai ajouté la ratatouille avec le corned beef pendant la cuisson.

I really liked the way the colours of the salad looked in the red salad bowl. I varied the ingredients a little from what I usually use, adding a yellow pepper, for example.

We had a heavy storm overnight. I fancied making us a comforting meal with scampis, cream and plenty of garlic. 😋
Nous avons subi un gros orage pendant la nuit. J'ai eu envie de nous préparer un repas réconfortant avec des scampis, de la crème et beaucoup d'ail. 😋

With the heat, our homemade bread was looking a bit odd. We didn’t take any chances and prepared a light cold dish for our evening meal.
The weather has cooled down a bit, which is a relief; we’re airing the place out as much as possible to let the built-up heat escape so we can sleep better. The intense heat is set to return next week, so we’re making the most of this time to catch up on our sleep until then.

Avec la chaleur, notre pain fait maison tirait une drôle de tête. Nous n'avons pas pris de risque et nous nous sommes préparés un petit plat froid pour notre repas du soir.
Le temps s'est un peu rafraîchi, cela fait du bien, on aère un maximum pour faire sortir la chaleur accumulée et ainsi mieux dormir. La grosse chaleur revient la semaine prochaine, alors, on en profite pour récupérer notre sommeil d'ici-là.
