Good Omens (season /saison 3)

We’re on Prime Video for this third and final series.
The series is adapted from the comics by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett.

This third series was originally intended to consist of six episodes, like the previous series, but Neil Gaiman withdrew from production at the end of 2024, when he was accused of sexual abuse. As a result, there is ultimately just a single episode, lasting one hour and thirty minutes, to bring the story to a close.

Synopsis :

Aziraphale had been promoted and was due to move to Heaven, leaving behind his friend Rampa, his bookshop and the pleasures of good food.

In Heaven, some of his subordinates do not obey him wholeheartedly. When certain things and people begin to disappear – including the Book of Life – Aziraphale launches an investigation and delegates the task to his subordinates to save time.

Aziraphale has also taken the initiative to bring a certain Joshua back to life… who will descend to Earth to preach the good news, before he has been given permission to do so.

Aziraphale avait été promu et devait s'installer au Paradis, en laissant, derrière lui, son ami Rampa, sa librairie et les plaisirs de la table.

Au Paradis, quelques-uns de ses subordonnés ne lui obéissent pas avec conviction. Quand certaines choses et personnes se mettent à disparaître, dont le Livre de la Vie, Aziraphale lance une enquête et délègue à ses subordonnés pour gagner du temps.

Aziraphale a aussi pris l'initiative de ramener à la vie, un certain Joshua .. qui descendra sur terre, pour prêcher la bonne parole, avant qu'on ne lui ait donné l'autorisation.

We would certainly have enjoyed the six episodes, but we really liked this short film, which runs for an hour and a half, as well.

There was plenty of humour, and the writers’ quirky sense of humour came through too.

Nous aurions certainement bien apprécié les 6 épisodes, mais ce petit film d'1h30 nous a bien plu également.

L'humour était présent et l'esprit décalé des auteurs aussi.

There aren’t many changes to the cast:

David Tennant: Rampa (Crowley in the original version), a demon who has lived on Earth since the Fall of Adam and Eve – for which he is responsible, as he is the demon, the Snake, who tempted Eve
Michael Sheen: Aziraphale, a Principality, a gourmet angel who lives in England and works as a bookseller, using his profession as a cover for his angelic activities
Jon Hamm: the archangel Gabriel, commander of the Celestial Forces
Doon Mackichan: the archangel Michael
Gloria Obianyo: Uriel
Derek Jacobi: Metatron
Sean Pertwee: Brian Cameron

Neil Gaiman is a renowned artist with a mind all of his own, and he makes a great team with Terry Pratchett. I hope that his legal troubles in his private life will be resolved quickly so that he can get back to his creative work and continue to delight us.
