For a change, we watched this six-episode French-language Belgian series, which was shown on television and which we’d recorded so we could watch it at our own pace.

Synopsis :

The Etherna terminal has only recently been introduced but is already widely used.
David Novack is a former police officer who lost his wife. Since that tragic event, he has continued to work for the police, but now in the Etherna terminal monitoring unit, which helps to solve certain cases.

These terminals allow us to speak with deceased people, provided you have the transitional object associated with that person.
A transitional object is an item that the deceased held very dear, such as a medallion, for example.
Using the same terminal, you can speak to several different deceased people, but not at the same time. You simply need to have the transitional object.
You can set up several terminals so that several deceased people can talk to one another.

La borne Etherna est apparue récemment et est déjà fort répandue.
David Novack est un ancien policier qui a perdu sa femme. Depuis ce tragique événement, il travaille toujours au sein de la police, mais dans le service d'écoute des bornes Etherna, ce qui permet de résoudre certaines enquêtes.

Ces bornes nous permettent de discuter avec des personnes décédées, pour autant que vous ayez l'objet transitionnel qui correspond à cette personne.
Un objet transitionnel est un objet auquel le défunt tient énormément, comme, par exemple, un médaillon.
Avec une même borne, vous pouvez parler à plusieurs personnes décédées différentes, mais pas en même temps. Vous devez simplement avoir l'objet transitionnel.
Vous pouvez mettre plusieurs bornes en présence pour que plusieurs défunts se parlent entre eux.

David Novack is called in to assist a colleague with an investigation, to examine the crime scene and try to find the deceased’s transitional object. An Italian investigator is also present to learn more about the Etherna terminals and the procedure to follow.

His colleague will speak on the phone and reveal a piece of information that will set David’s mind racing. From that point on, he will want to follow the case closely, because it reminds him of his past and a case he thought was closed.

David Novack est appelé sur une enquête d'un collègue pour examiner la scène de crime et tenter de trouver l'objet transitionnel de la défunte. Une enquêtrice italienne est également présente pour en apprendre plus sur les bornes Etherna et sur la façon de procéder.

Son collègue parlera au téléphone et donnera une information qui tiltera dans la tête de David. A partir de là, il voudra suivre l'affaire de près, parce que cela lui rappelle son passé et une affaire qu'il croyait close.

My opinion and a few facts /Mon avis et petites infos :

I really enjoyed it. The subject matter is original. You shouldn’t give up after one or two episodes that seem a bit vague; you’ve got to give it a chance, as is often the case with Belgian series.

Even though it was fairly easy to guess some of the details that were deliberately kept under wraps, I still enjoyed it.

J'ai bien aimé. Le sujet est original. Il ne faut pas s'arrêter après 1 ou 2 épisodes qui semblent flous, il faut laisser une chance, comme souvent avec les séries belges.

Même si on devinait assez facilement certaines infos volontairement cachées, cela m'a plu.
