Synopsis :

A pandemic has ravaged a large part of the population. People are doing whatever they can to survive.

Paul lives on an abandoned farm with his two sons. During the day, they work outside, but as soon as night falls, they lock themselves inside.

After dark, “monsters” emerge from their lairs and attack other living creatures.

During the day, Thomas spends time at the Roses' estate, where he lends a helping hand in the hope of catching the eye of their daughter, Charlotte.

The Roses have managed to keep the “monsters” away from their home and are living relatively comfortably.

Thomas's brother Joseph is more of the brains behind the operation. He observes, thinks, creates, experiments and takes notes to find ways to improve their chances of survival.

How long can they keep going like this, constantly on edge, afraid of being separated, terrified of closing their eyes, and dreading the possibility of never seeing each other again?

My opinion and a few facts /Mon avis et petites infos :

I didn’t like this film : it was far too dark. It makes you wonder why Nicolas Cage agreed to star in it.

At least we’ve seen it, but I’m not sure I’ll remember it for long.

The cast is very small:

Nicolas Cage: Paul
Jaeden Martell: Joseph
Maxwell Jenkins: Thomas
Sadie Soverall: Charlotte
Joe Dixon: Mr Rose
Samantha Coughlan: Mrs Rose

You may have already seen Jaeden Martell in the film It, adapted from the novel by Stephen King, in which he played Bill Denbrough.
Maxwell Jenkins is best known for playing Will Robinson in the series Lost in Space, but also, more recently, Cade in the mini-series The Bondsman (starring Kevin Bacon).
Sadie Soverall played Beatrix in the Winx series.

What did you think of this film, if you’ve seen it?

Enjoy your evenings in front of the telly, and see you soon,

Le casting est très restreint :

Nicolas Cage : Paul
Jaeden Martell : Joseph
Maxwell Jenkins : Thomas
Sadie Soverall : Charlotte
Joe Dixon : M. Rose
Samantha Coughlan : Mme Rose

Florence
