Monomad Model Shoot

(edited)

Today I've been surfing Hive quite a bit and it inspired me to look through my own photos and post for #MonochromeMonday. Something I haven't done in way too long. I also haven't been using Lightroom and Photoshop in quite a while but thankfully most are muscle memory after years of shooting and editing. Although, as you will see, tastes change.

All three photos here are from the same photoshoot with models Jenny Bee and Sariphina. They were taken in the same location, on the same day, and within half an hour of each other. Yet they look quite different.

This first picture with both Jenny and Amanda is one of my all-time favorites. Amanda looking straight at the camera and Jenny looking at her partner or competitor who knows, right? I edited this photo, retouching the skin, and getting rid of fly-away hairs, and I converted it to black & white immediately after I took it, five years ago.

This next one here features Jenny alone posing with the 50s car (don't ask me what make the car is please ๐Ÿ˜…). I did this edit today and I did not do any skin retouches or such. I simply converted to black and white, of course, with some color adjustments in the process. The result is very different.

And last but not least a headshot of Jenny in the same outfit - got to love that hat! Among people who know me, it is no secret that I love eyes ๐Ÿ‘€. I love painting them, I love taking close-up photos of them, and - I like editing photos to emphasize the eyes. That is what I have done in this photo.

Like the previous one, I only edited this one today and I did not do any skin retouches and such. In the conversion to black and white I went overall a little lighter as you can see on her hair and then I focused on Jenny's eyes to make them stand out.

To me, editing photos opens up a whole other world to explore the possibilities of expression. Imagine I would process the first photo the same way I did the other two - it would come out feeling totally different. Since I am not getting paid to edit photos in a certain way (e.g. glamor magazines), it depends a lot on my mood at that very moment how the edited photo will turn out.

How about you? Do you edit your photos? Do you have a certain style or workflow you follow each time?

This is my entry for the daily #monomad challenge. Thanks for reading and if you have a favorite of the three, please let me know.

Have a great rest of your day!

Cheers,
(Ocean)Bee

Thank you, much appreciated! I wished I remembered if that last photo was a candid in-between-the-shots photo - but in the end it doesn't matter ๐Ÿ˜€

I hope you don't feel overwhelmed and awkward, but your eyes... My God! That look kills my nerves. Lovely. I mean it. Respectfully, of course. Gorgeous, that's what you are.

Glad you like their eyes but - for clarification - these are two models that I took photos of, not me.
