Hey, guys, this is my first post in the Black & White photography community. I usually snap quite a few photos, but I realized I had no intention behind them; I always chalk it up to "it's for the memories." Therefore, I wanted to take a step toward understanding and having a clear intent when taking photos and learning to be a better photographer in general. I have always been drawn toward monochrome photographs and thus thought I would give it a shot.
This week, I gave myself a theme: "flowers"; I walked around my garden and the neighborhood in search of flowers to shoot. You may wonder why I chose flowers; we usually associate flowers with color, smell, herbal properties, or taste. My intent behind these photos was to take those factors out and focus on the shape and linings that differentiate each flower. I hope you guys like the photos because I had a blast searching for flowers and shooting them. All the photographs were taken from my phone and are unedited (Another skill I would like to pick up in the future). This is my entry for the #monomad challenge.
