Monomad : From the Resort

Funtime on a gloomy day.

Though we had a gloomy weather yesterday, we still managed to have fun at the resort. It was a quiet escape from the daily grind, with the cold, cloudy weather seemingly cloaking everything in a grey.

It was one of the days when the sky felt heavy and ready to burst in outpour, but the beauty of the resort stood out. Overlooking the mountains, it was really a day to brush all worries away.

Capiz Shell Bahay Kubo

These hanging ornaments hanging at the edge of the cottage roof caught my eye. They were shaped like the bahay kubo, a traditional Filipino nipa hut, expertly crafted from capiz shells.

The capiz shells, in monochrome seemed to glow softly, standing out against the cloudy sky. They swayed as the wind blew.

The Woman and the Fountain

When I was not swimming, I made sure I wander about and take some pictures (for the blog! for the blog! LOL). Near the main pavillion was this graceful statue of a woman holding a jar. She stood still, as poised to pour out the content of her jar, eternally to the fountain on where she stood.

The monochrome makes it look like she's from the by-gone, forgotten era, doesn't it?

Collection

There were several calachuchi trees (from the plumeria family) around the pool. Little Man picked up some red, white, and yellow flowers and kept them inside a transparent plastic cup.

"These are my collections," he said. Then while in the pool he asked for my phone and took photos of his creation.I could not hide my concern that he might just slip back into the water and take my phone down with him. huhu. But yes, I also cannot deny that he took a great shot here.
