Is there anywhere else she could go for help? It sounds like you are doing plenty for now, but obviously you can't pay for her college, etc.

Hate to admit this village is full of selfish folks, but we are the only ones that show her true care. Funny you mention the bags, we use buckets or canvas bags whenever possible, but still end up with plastic too. Every now and then we carefully flatten and fold them, organize from smallest to largest, and the veg sellers at the market will give us a discount and gladly take them from us.
