First day of school part 2

Hi again everyone!
I’m finally sharing what happened on my first day of school in my 4th year of junior high school! I know this happened two weeks ago already (I got super busy, sorry huhu), but I still really wanted to talk about it.

So here’s how the day went:

Before school even started, I had already packed my bag with all my school supplies. I really wanted to be more organized this year, so I prepared everything the night before. I even made sure my uniform was ironed and ready to go! Our class starts at 12 PM, but I didn’t want to be in a rush, so I got ready early. I did my makeup, fixed my bangs, and honestly, I felt really prepared and confident.

I left home at 10:30 AM and arrived at school around 10:40. When I got there, I was surprised (but happy!) to see most of my classmates from last school year were still in the same section. I honestly thought we’d all be separated because our class had a reputation—yep, we were top 2 in school guidance visits, so I assumed they'd mix us up. But nope, it stayed the same. I guess it's fine anyway, at least I get to be with familiar faces.

Our classroom was all the way up on the fourth floor. It was exhausting walking up there, and just thinking about having to climb those stairs every single day for the whole school year made my legs tired already. I told myself, "At least my calves will be muscled after this!" 😂

Once I got to the classroom, I looked for a good spot and immediately took the seat by the window. I love window seats loll they're always airy and fresh. While waiting for class to start, I chatted with my old classmates and noticed a few new faces too. Even though most of the students were from last year, we also had transferees. On the first day, I think there were around 60 of us, but now it’s down to 56 because some students didn’t have proper seating, and look! A rainbow!!!!.

When our adviser came in, she asked us to introduce ourselves one by one in front of the class. My heart dropped. I have social anxiety, and public speaking is one of my biggest fears. The moment I heard my name being called, my hands turned cold and started shaking nonstop. My heart literally skipped a beat. I still did it, though. I was nervous, but proud of myself for pushing through.

After school ended, I walked home with a few classmates. On the way, I actually got to talk more with some of the transferees. I was shy at first, but they were really friendly and fun to talk to. By the time we reached the main road, I had already made a couple of new friends. It was a nice way to end my first day, tiring but memorable.

Hi there! Thanks for sharing you first day back-reading this felt reliving those school day jitters all over again! I really admire how prepared you were (ironing your uniform and all), and I totally get the mix of nerves and excitement, especially with the public speaking part- huge props to you for pushing through that! It's so nice that you got to stay with familiar classmates and even started connecting with the new ones right away. Also, that bit about the fourth-floor classroom and your future muscled calves made me laugh 😂 Looking forward to hearing more about your school adventures! 💙 @unicorn123

I noticed that some of the students are wearing uniforms like you and some of the girls are wearing jeans or other clothes. Is a uniform required or can you choose to wear it or not?

They're required but not strictly required
