Porridge for My Father and His Recovery 😊❤🙏

(edited)

Hello everyone!

Hope all are safe and well! 😊❤🙏

Today, I want to share another story about my father's recovery and the simple foods we prepare at home. Since my father got sick, our daily routine has changed. We have been paying more attention to his food, medications, and other needs. It has not been easy, but I am happy and grateful that he is getting better day by day.

When my father was sick, he requested my mother to cook porridge for him. It was the food he wanted to eat because it was soft and easy to eat. When he was admitted to the hospital, porridge was also served to him because he was advised to have soft meals.

Sometimes, when we are not feeling well, we prefer simple food that is easy to eat and comfortable for our stomach. Porridge is one of those foods that many Filipino families prepare when someone is sick. It is simple, warm, and comforting.

Taking care of someone who is sick requires patience and attention. We need to consider what they can eat, what they need to avoid, and what their doctor recommends. It may seem like a small thing to prepare a meal, but when someone is unwell, even a simple bowl of porridge can mean a lot.

I remember how we worried about my father when he was admitted to the hospital. It was emotionally draining, and we also had to think about the expenses for his medicines, laboratory tests, and other needs. We wanted him to recover as soon as possible, but we knew that healing takes time.

Praise God, he was eventually discharged and was able to return home. We were so happy to have him back with us! 😊❤🙏

When my father came home and started feeling better, especially with his stomach, he was able to eat the food we usually served at home. 😊

It makes me happy to see him eating well again. He can now enjoy rice, fruits, root crops, fish, shrimp, meat, and other foods that we prepare for the family, depending on what he can tolerate and what is suitable for his condition.

We also had seashells to eat, but we did not let my father eat them while he was recovering. My mother and I were the ones who enjoyed them instead. 😁

We wanted to be careful with his food because he had only recently been sick. Even if he was feeling better, we did not want to take unnecessary risks with what he ate. We continued to consider his condition and the advice given to us.

One thing I appreciate about living near the sea is that we sometimes have access to seafood without spending much money. It is a blessing for our family, especially when our budget is tight.

We also have some food growing in our backyard. These simple sources of food help us save money and make use of what is available around us. We cannot always afford to buy everything we want, so having food from the sea and our backyard is something we are thankful for.

Although I am happy that my father is getting better, I cannot deny that our situation has also been financially challenging. 🙏

His medications need to continue, and there are times when our budget is not enough for all his medicines and our daily food. It is difficult when we have several needs to attend to at the same time.

Good thing that we can get some medicines for free from our municipality. We are grateful for this assistance because it helps lessen our expenses. However, not all the medicines my father needs are available, so we still have to find ways to provide the rest. 🙏

Have a Blessed Thursday everyone! 😀😀😀💖💖💖

Thank You Lord for the blessings and love!

Be grateful in every little/simple things and you’ll find happiness you ever wanted! 😀😀😀

Everyday is worth to be grateful of!

Praying for the safety and wellness of all.

So glad that he is getting so much better, there's really a lot to think kapag nahospital tapos di ready no. I could relate coz we just experienced the same last October. But yeah, we survived. Thanks God! Anyways, I hope you fatherbels recovered completely na. And as for the meds, share ko lang yong samin, we asked the doctor if pwede na ang ereseta na gamot is yong sakop nong YAKAP. Pwede naman tho may isang gamot na hindi. Its big help coz we could get them for free. Is we run around makakabili pa rin coz di na sya super mahal. Anyways, FIGHTING!
