Greetings everyone! How was your day? It's a blessing from above that rain has finally come. Our farmers in the farms are overwhelmed because they will be able to cultivate their dried lands again. It's a good start since school opening is fast approaching. Did your kids bring home the Bacon? We recently attended the Awarding Ceremony of St. Benilde School at SMX convention center wherein my granddaughter, Antonia received 3 academic awards with high honors.
Actually, we almost didn't make it due to time constraint so we decided to call a taxi for faster travel. Their classroom adviser kept clamouring that her 3rd year students were still testing her patience up to the last minute! Lol! Antonia was already praying silently because the program had started already and we're still traveling. I told her to calm down because there's still the lower grades to call before the grade 9.
Fortunately, it was just on time that their section was called and stood up to form a line at the center aisle when we entered the door. Save by the bell!
After the ceremony, she immediately sent a photo to her mom showing her silver medal and 3 certificates bearing the "With High Honors" award. That goes for grades with 95% up. She garnered being in the top 4 with a 96% grade. Perhaps, it could be higher than that but just like any youth of today, she's a proactive digital fan in the gaming world online! We never forced her to dig in her nose studying without a break. I told her and my kids before, that all they needed was to pass the exam. Luckily, they all got good grades beyond my expectations including Antonia.
After taking photos, we went to the other side of the SM to dine in. Afterward, we decided to look around for something that would fancy our eyes.
After some time, we went to HM shop and I bought her a crop top shirt then she chose a white wedged sandal.
Hmmm, sorry she has it on her mobile as she sent the photo to her mom for approval.
In the evening, we decided to give her a treat at McDo. As usual, we had spaghetti, chicken joy, beverages, iced coffee and my share, a McDo Espresso coffee.:)
Afterwards,we took a little tour around. Their smiles are contagious bringing along their friends and families. That's my daughter with her baby and Antonia tagging along.
The sounds of drumbeats coming from those colorful cars with neon lights created a lively ambiance while others danced with the music!
We took photos as we strolled down the lane.
Some chose to sit and relax and some lined up to take turns to buy McDonald's Ice Cream smoothies. I let them take another round to tour farther though I just sat beside the other onlookers as my feet couldn't go further! But I am happy guys, it was a special day for us. It was another achievement for Antonia. She has already left this morning to go to her father's house as they will be spending their short vacay with her first cousins in Dumaguete City. She deserves a break anyway. More sunburnt coming!
Going down the memory lane...
I usually do the honor of escorting her while receiving her certificates and medals since her mom was away most of the time due to the distance from her workplace. So granny is there as her "backup".
She's been a consistent honor student since nursery to date. Charge to experience having raised 5 kids of my own, I have taken into consideration that kids nowadays are different from 2 decades ago since gadgets during that time were more expensive compared to today when there are cheaper ones due to stiff competition in the market and new inventions crop up now and then. Therefore, kids know how to maneuver these stuffs at an early age. In our case, I see to it that she does her assignments in school first before anything else!:)
An Agreement
How she hated Filipino subject since the day she learned to read! She would say "I hate Pilipino!". We speak Cebuano or Visayan at home and she can't understand the Tagalog language so I told her to listen to TV news or K-drama. I tried to appease her because she cried whenever she was dealing with her subjects in Filipino, especially in drafting her daily "talambuhay" meaning diary! That was her ordeal so I've thought of a new strategy to convince her.
One night, we made an " agreement", that she do her daily diary in Tagalog without crying and I promised to sew different outfits for her dolls! I made Lalaloopsy's cute school uniform and they went to school together!
That's her class card last grading as I still have to pick the hard copy. As you can see, she got 98% in her Filipino subject!
I am glad she grew up to be a fine young lady with versatile talent especially on those trending online technology. Well, she's not an exception to that! She's good in digital drawing too.
I encouraged her to join our digital drawing challenges under The Telos Foundation. On the above photo is our senior ambassador which she developed.
One of her NFT digital drawings that was minted, 3 of which were sold for 100 telos only. It's a good start for a beginner though she didn't push through due to her hectic schedule since she was enrolled in the Science class with two additional science subjects. For now, she's more relaxed having enrolled in a private school.
I've counted 25 medals since her elementary years adding 5 for her previous year's level and current year. She got 2 gold medals as the champion in table tennis single division and girl's soccer for being the highest pointer!
Who would have thought that this cute baby has turned into a beautiful lady with many aspirations in life made me smile!
This is all for now, thanks for the Wednesday Walk by @tattoodjay @elizacheng, and thanks to sir @JustinParke for this awesome community!
We can see that it's the month of graduation. Congratulations to the awardees! :)

Due to the rains now the bad lands are getting better. Schools are now opening all around. Moving around and attending events. Have a great time and wish you all the best.
Yes, we parents are proud to go even if the weather is bad just to attend this wonderful event after all their efforts.
I can still remember the days when I am still a student and I am an achiever before haha. Time flies so fast.
Good for you dear! That's quite an achievement. Am sure your friends still remember those days and recall your brilliance in school. It's priceless, right?
