Hello everyone! Herewith are my black and White Original Photos way back mid 1970's. Well, I am now 67, praise God, and you can imagine how old I am during those years! Am pretty sure your mom's were so young way back then. Actually, my batch are now retired (most of them) and are now enjoying the fruits of their labor after long years of service from their respective jobs.
We have our group chat so we often share any important events that's connected to our Alma Mater, Dansalan College which was burned down by the rebels during the siege in Marawi City in Mindanao. All we can do is reminisce the good old days when we were still young at heart and yes, full of energy! On the above picture was during 1969-70 when we were in our first year. We would share whatever photos we've saved after all those years! We were named the Victor's Team wherein I was one of the cheerleaders.
I was one of the Glee-Club members in our school. I did the second voice since I'm an alto.
This was taken during Juniors and Seniors Promenade. Many wore long skirts since most of us were Muslims though we still followed the pink and blue colors.
(Photo: our class valedictorian, me and my cousin who is now in Norway)
Our 3rd year was somewhat irregular due to the first uprising in Mindanao a year after the proclamation of Martial Law in the Philippines where we were forced to leave Marawi to save our lives since it was declared to be a "No man's Land" by the military government when things got worst. Thankfully, we were able to return and able to graduate! Most of us were classmates since first year high school in same section A class. I am proud to say that most of us did graduate in college with important positions in Mindanao State university and some in MSU-IIT in Iligan City. Would you believe guys that two our most talkative boys was our class valedictorian since his elementary years until we graduated in highschool and the other became a lawyer then retired as provincial prosecutor? So funny!
This is yours truly at the present time in black n white using the trending app of FB.
I used the app using sketchbook. I love this!

I am sure that those first 3 photos were not edited by photo editing softwares. Those days where even its just black and white, the moments that was shared was memorable.
Yes, they're original and you need to call for a photographer from the studio first before they go to your place. Unlike today when you only need to take a selfie with your friends and presto! Your faces are already posted on FB! Lol!
True beauty po ay kita talaga sa black and white, beautiful inside out po kayo 'nay.
Hi there! Thanks for the good comment and thanks for the visit. It's highly appreciated!
Wow, school memories, a real blast from the past. I am not as old as you, but when I look back at school photos I often don't remember the clothes I was wearing, and I can't even remember the names of many old school friends. I didn't realize you used to live in Mindanao.
Is Abu-Sayaf still a big problem in this part of the country or have they been pushed out to the smaller islands?
It's because we've known each other since first year hisch and some were my buddies since our elementary days and we attended Sunday school together. Our school were once run by presbyterian father's so we were often visited by Peace corps from the US. It's a non-sectarian school where Muslims & Christians were educated without prejudice hence we've developed a close tie till now at our age.🙂
Insurgency is still a problem but the government is heavily working on it. Well, they seems to be everywhere.. here and across the border. I pray this will stop for the next generation to live peacefully.
