My Wednesday Walk Made Me Smile For My Bountiful Harvest

Hello there Hivers! How's your day today? We have fine weather today despite the past successive low pressure which caused havoc to the flooded areas in different places. Because of the continuous rain, my almost dying squash plants grew bountifully that made me smile! I had more than enough for consumption:)

Each got matured and ready for plucking one by one and I was happy that it saved our pockets. In fact, I have already cooked a lot of it for our daily consumption. Bring self sufficient is a plus especially in these times when commodities are constantly going up. My daughter have also prepared natural veggies for her baby instead of the bottled preserves.

Aside from squash, we have other root crops like yams and lintels as well but we have them in our farm since the soil there is more fertile.

Sad to say, there are outsiders who simply stole some of our squash. Too bad that they took advantage whenever I am outside or when there's nobody at home. On the second thought, I guess I have saved their empty stomach in one way or another so it's okay so long as they won't take them all!

I will be making squash preserves on my next harvest. :)

This is all for now, thank you for dropping by again! Keep safe everyone!

Yes, we grow it any time of the year since we're a tropical country. I see to it that I plant something in my backyard because eating fresh veggies is really good and it's a good cut in our pockets as well. 🙂

The pumpkin and beans look really good. I grow them also but they are not good like your plants.

You can add organic soil dear. I guess it depends on the weather condition you're in. We have cool climate here and we have natural fertile soil. You can also choose other varieties such as those pumpkins grown that are used for the Halloween? I've been wondering how to get that kind of specimen here......

Yes, better plant some in your garden/land too. If you have a wide land for this then it's really good! I used to plant in our farm too. I small can of squash seeds will go a long way in the market.
