⚠️ Warning: This Korean Chicken & Carbonara May Cause Happy Tears 😭🔥

Hello Hivers!😃

Last night, me and my husband went to a rameon bar. It was already late and we were really hungry. We walk around the city looking for something to eat but most of the restaurant is already closed. Our stomachs was growling and we just wanna eat anything that is hot and tasty. 😂

We walk around like maybe 20 or 30 mins, just roaming the deep part of the city, and then we saw this small restaurant near the construction bridge in Purok 6, Brgy. San Juan, Surigao City. It's kinda hidden, like you won’t see it right away unless you look properly. It's not super bright or popular-looking, but when we saw it, we stop and say “Let’s try here.”

The place is 2 floor. Downstairs was a samgyupsal restaurant called “Gyeongju.” It looks okay but we’re not in the mood for samgyup that night. So we look upstairs and saw a sign sayin “Makisosyo.” The name sounds funny and friendly, like sharing or talking to people. We got curious so we go up.

Me and my husband, we love food. Like we are food buddies. We always try new foods together and sometimes challenge each other, especially when it’s spicy. I love spicy food, but my husband not really. He always lose on our spicy challenge. 😅 But he still try it with me because we enjoy doing it together.

When we get upstairs, the place was small but cute. They play Korean music and have posters of ramen and chicken on the wall. The staff was nice and friendly, even if it was already kinda late. We sit down and check the menu. There was a lot of ramen choices—buldak rameon, cheesy rameon, kimchi rameon, and the one that got my attention: buldak carbonara. I never seen carbonara ramen before!

So we ordered Korean fried chicken and buldak carbonara. When the food come, oh my gosh it smell soooo good. The chicken was crunchy and spicy glaze was all over it. I took a bite and it was crispy outside and soft and juicy inside. Super yummy.

The buldak carbonara was creamy but also really spicy. The noodles was thick and chewy and the sauce was fire. 🔥 My husband try it first and he start coughing lol. He said it was too hot for him. But I love it! It was spicy but also has creamy taste that make it really different. It was my first time tasting something like that and I was shocked how good it was.

Even my husband who don’t like spicy ended up eating more than half. He keep drinking water and wiping his sweat but he can’t stop eating haha. He said, “Grabe ka sakit sa baba pero lami.” (This hurts but it's sooo good.) 😂
While eating, we talk about how we didn’t expect to find a place like this here in Surigao. It’s not in mall or busy street. It’s kinda hidden and quiet. But that’s what makes it feel like a secret spot. A hidden gem.

We really like the name “Makisosyo” too. It feels like the meaning fits.❤️
After we eat, we was so full but also so happy. It wasn’t just the food—it’s the whole experience. We discovered a place that’s special to us now. We already plan to go back again soon and try other food from the menu. Maybe next time we bring our friends too so they can enjoy with us.

So if you’re in Surigao and hungry late at night, maybe try walk around near the bridge in Purok 6. Look for that small restaurant with a friendly name. It might not be fancy, but it’s 100% worth it.

I also tried these spicy Korean noodles, like they are x10 more spicy than ours. And yes, you're right, tears start to fall while you are smiling and trying to cool down your tongue.

Thanks for posting in the ASEAN Hive Community.

Hey, @justinparke here. Sorry for the inconvenience, but my family and I arrived in the USA and for several days we were busy getting over jetlag and visiting family. Now I am back to voting and curating, but will be voting at roughly 50% less than normal until I am caught up again. Sorry for the inconvenience and I hope for all to be back to normal within 48 hours.
