For the past few months, my husband and I have found ourselves living through a challenging period in our lives.
Every day felt like a struggle, a continuous cycle of "isang kahig, isang tuka" — one scratch, one peck.
It was as if we were trying to survive with the little we had.
Despite the hardships, we knew we had to face the situation together.
We sat down one evening and analyzed what we needed to change.
We discussed our income, expenses, and the habits we needed to shed.
We also committed to managing our resources more wisely, helping each other with household chores, and supporting one another emotionally.
One thing I remember my husband said was, "Ganyan ang buhay, parang gulong", which means, "Life is like a wheel."
He explained that life is full of ups and downs.
Right now, we are down, he said, but that doesn't mean it will stay that way forever.
The wheel turns and soon we will find ourselves on the ups again.
Life can change suddenly, and those moments of falling are just temporary.
Those simple words, are what motivated me at that time to keep having faith.
I realized that no matter how hard things get, better days are ahead.
I also found solace in prayer.
Each night, I poured my heart out to God, asking for guidance and wisdom to face our difficulties.
I believed that He was the only one who truly understood our situation and that trusting Him was the key to overcoming our struggles.
But there was a Filipino proverb: "Nasa Diyos ang awa, nasa tao ang gawa," which means, "Mercy is with God, action is with man."
So even though God's mercy is limitless, it reminded me that I also have a responsibility to act and do my part.
We cannot simply rely on luck or divine intervention to change our lives, but we must also take the necessary steps based on what we pray for.
So with the wisdom of these Filipino proverbs and similes, we're moving forward with a brighter future and a better life.
So that's all for now guys! I hope those ASEAN expressions have inspired you and I'm also looking forward to seeing your own figurative language!
Shout out to @justinparke, for organizing this contest — thanks for the opportunity!
Until my next creativity...
Thanks for the visit! Have a lovely day. Buh-bye. 💗🌸
Your story is so inspiring, especially how you face challenges together with faith and hope.
That's my goal, to inspire. And good thing, it happens. ☺️
There's always time in our lives where we have nothing but hold on to your faith because not all the time are sadness, there's always be better days coming ahead.
Yeah. That's what I experienced this time. It's what inspires me to encounter problems; I always learn something from them.
That's a good attitude po!Faith with actions are the key ingredients to a successful life.
Godbless you always.
Yeah. Thank you. 🥰
Your faith and teamwork with your husband are truly inspiring. Life may have its ups and downs, but trusting God and taking action really makes a difference.
Super. That's how life is now. Kasi pag walang faith and teamwork, ayy naku. Mastress na ko talaga. 😅
I was about to get teary-eyed until I saw the hamster 🤣
kidding aside, you and your husband were right on everything.. Challenges are part of life,, do your best and if it isn't enough, just take a rest but never give up..
and don't ever, ever compare yourself to others,,
and remember, you have 2 little cute humans depending on you.. they're your motivation to strive even harder,, 💪💪
Hahaha... Actually parang nagdalawang isip akong ilagay kasi parang di bagay. Pero tuwang tuwa ako sa hamster talaga hahaha.
And tama ka sa rest but never give up. Yan sometimes ang nakakalimutan ko talaga. It's so easy to give up sa life, but yung rest was somehow neglected na. 💪🏼
that's true.. Overthink talaga malala minsan, that's why we feel so restless and hopeless..
however, my husband is a person who doesn't overthink at all,, he would always say,, "hayaan mo na, bukas na yan" at ako nman tong "No, fix natin to" (kala mo talaga may magagawa)...
then the next day, my husband's in a good mood, then here I am, no sleep, no rest, still overthinking but no resolution... hanggang sa na resolve lng xa over time... so the difference,, it's how we handle the situation,, kung di na talaga kaya, itulog nlng yan,, 😁

Truly life is an ongoing journey that never has boundaries. Only the boundary between life and death. But I wholeheartedly believe that life is like a wheel. Our involvement in ongoing life, the use of our resources and the involvement of world peace and love are the unique parts of life. Along with the value of time and the plan to acquire wealth. Thank you for sharing this wonderful message.
In our life's journey, we all have our ups and downs on different levels. It is up to us how we handle these trials.
Staying focused and holding on to our faith in God together with our perseverance to make both ends meet in our everyday life, though it is the hardest struggle, we will never be swayed by any challenges we face, no matter how hard it would be.
Always brace yourself with prayers, together with your clean work, and everything will prosper in God's Divine timing.
It's a blessing that you have a husband who works together with you. God bless you and your family @mayt. God is good. Continue to trust Him. 💖🕊️
