Grandmother's 74th Special Birthday Celebration: Bringing Relatives Together Once in a Year!

 February 1 marks the 74th birthday of my grandmother. She is living together with her one grandson which is the son of her youngest daughter. She lives nearby our house but we can sometimes chat ourselves since I am a very busy person taking care of my kids and working.

 I am the 9th grand daughter so I gave my grandmother one whole lechon. At first she complains because it was expensive but because I want her to be happy so I gave it to her on that day with my whole heart ❤ 

 This is her sons and daughters. She has 2 daughters and 8 sons. My father is the 5th from the eldest. Her eldest daughter lives in Manila for a long time but came home here in Mindanao just to celebrate my grandma's birthday. Other sons are living not so far away and they manage to come also. They brought a lot of foods like cake, dessert and vibes. 

 These are some of our relatives. My grandma's sisters and brothers and uncles and aunts.They met long time ago maybe 4-5 years and they met again this year. I really saw how happy they are. They missed each other because they were separated for a long time due to families survival of living. They also had properties to guard and rely their earnings there. 

 This was the cake one of her son bought for her. She was surprised because in our village it's not common to have tall cakes. Taller cakes are expensive. 

 This is the lechon I gave to my grandmother. Lechon is a common Filipino food on special celebrations. Though it's expensive but birthdays only happens once a year. It has so many desserts too. Namely cupcakes, maja Blanca, biko (made from a sticky rice and coconut milk) and budbud a Filipino delicacy made from sticky rice and coconut milk that is wrapped by a banana leaf. 

 This is the design I made for my grandmother. I put it in the balcony because the program took place there as well as the sound system. After the eating time some of the people proceed here because they are going to sing at a Karaoke which my brother had set up. Also we played so many parlor games for the visitors and gave money rewards. 

 It was a fun day and everything is memorable because after that everyone will go back to each place. Birthdays can be expensive but memories are the profit of it. Maybe we will see each other next year because everyone will be busy again. I've learned that being far is not a reason to be absent, it's your willingness to do it if you are loved❤
