Yay, Finally! Our First Water Spinach Harvest

Happy Sunday Hivers!

One of the easiest plants to grow is water spinach. Unlike other vegetable plants that require intensive care and constant attention, this one grows well as long as it gets enough water and sunlight.

Water spinach is also very quick to harvest. Just about a month after planting, it already grows big enough to be harvested, so you can enjoy eating what you planted right away. Unlike other vegetables that take several months to mature, this one grows really fast and is very convenient to grow.

Finally, we have harvested our water spinach. This is our very first harvest. It feels really different and fulfilling when you grow your own food, because aside from the joy of knowing it is chemical-free, you also don’t waste it since it is the result of your own hard work and effort in planting it.

After harvesting our water spinach, we cooked it right away. It tastes much better when it is freshly cooked. Since we already had ground pork in the fridge, we simply cooked the water spinach adobo-style and added the pork. Of course, it helped us save on our meal since we didn’t need to buy water spinach.

Overall, this small experience made us appreciate gardening even more. It may look simple, but growing your own food really brings a different kind of happiness and satisfaction. We also learned that even a small space or a simple plant like water spinach can already give something useful for the family. It helps us save money, eat healthier, and enjoy fresh food straight from our garden.

Hopefully, this is just the start, and we can grow more vegetables in the future. It feels good to know that with a little effort and patience, we can already harvest something from what we planted.

Thank you for reading and see you on my next blog. Cheers!
