Transplanting Another Batch of Pak Choi

The first batch of pak choi we planted didn’t turn out as well as I had hoped. We were still able to harvest some and use them in our meals, but I wouldn’t really consider it a good harvest. Most of the pak choi didn’t grow properly, and the leaves had a lot of holes in them.

Maybe they didn’t do well because we planted them directly in the ground. We did have a few plants that turned out really nice, though, and those were the ones we planted in pots. I told my mom that maybe they prefer growing in pots rather than directly in the ground. It could also have something to do with the type of soil. We did use good-quality soil, but there were also some pebbles around the plants.

Last month, my mom sowed the seeds for the second batch of pak choi, and just this week, we transplanted the seedlings into pots. This time, we only sowed a small amount because the harvest from the first batch wasn’t that good. So for now, we’re trying to grow all of them in pots and see how they do.

If they all grow well in the pots, maybe we’ll just grow all our future pak choi in pots instead. Our original plan for the first batch was actually to sell them, but since the harvest didn’t turn out very well, we ended up just consuming them ourselves.

Hopefully, this second batch will grow better. I’m hoping the leaves won’t have as many holes and that the plants will be healthier compared to the first batch. For now, we’ll just keep observing them and see how they turn out.
