The Abundance of Nature

Happy Wednesday Hivers!

I had many favorite fruits when I was younger, but as I reached my 40s, some of them are no longer my favorites. For some, it's because I no longer enjoy sour fruits, while for others, I simply don't like their taste anymore. However, there is one fruit that I loved back then and still enjoy eating to this day.

I'm not sure if this fruit is available in your area. In our place, we call it tambis, and in English, it is commonly known as wax apple or Java apple.

We have a Java apple tree near our house, and right now it is loaded with fruits. Since there are so many, we can't possibly eat them all. Many of the fruits simply fall to the ground, while others become food for the birds.

This is one fruit that I still enjoy eating even today. I really like its taste because it is neither too sweet nor too sour, making it refreshing and enjoyable to eat.

In the Philippines, you can find plenty of Java apple trees almost everywhere. Around this time of the year, these trees are usually overflowing with fruits. I think this is their peak season, just like watermelons and mangoes. Because of the abundant harvest, Java apples become very affordable in local markets.

Many people enjoy eating this fruit not only because it is refreshing but also because it is inexpensive and easy to find. It's one of those seasonal fruits that many families look forward to when the trees are full of ripe fruits.

Do you also have Java apple trees in your area? I'd love to know if this fruit is common where you live.

Seeing our Java apple tree full of fruits reminds me of how generous nature can be. It is always a joy to enjoy fresh fruits straight from the tree and appreciate the simple blessings that each season brings.

Thank you for reading and see you on my next blog. Cheers!
