Happy Friday Hivers!
Iāve noticed that as I grow older, Iāve become more careful with money, in other words, Iāve learned how to handle my finances better. Back in my 20s, I was very careless with spending. My mindset then was, āI have a regular job, Iām still young, I can earn it back anyway.ā
But when I eventually faced a situation where my savings hit zero, thatās when I truly started learning how to manage my money.
Now, I stick to a daily budget and make sure not to go beyond it. In fact, I try to spend even less than what Iāve allotted so that I can save the remaining amount.
Iāve been having a bit of a struggle lately since I transferred to a new company thatās located right across a mall. The worst part is that most of my colleagues are younger and they love eating lunch out.
To be fair, itās not really a problem if I donāt join them because they donāt force me. But there are times when I feel a little uncomfortable since I keep refusing their invites.
And as we all know, food at the mall tends to be more expensive compared to a simple carinderia meal.
So one time, since I was already feeling a bit guilty for always saying no, I finally joined them when they invited me for lunch. We agreed to eat at Ribshack. I was actually thankful that they chose a place that wasnāt too expensive, but still, I ended up going over my daily budget. It wasnāt by much though, so I just let it pass.
Ribshack has a similar concept to Mang Inasal ā they serve grilled pork and chicken dishes with unlimited rice. But personally, I find Ribshackās marinade more flavorful compared to Mang Inasal.
When we arrived at the restaurant, it was already packed with people. In fact, this place always seems to be full, probably because, like me, many also enjoy the taste of their food.
All of us ended up finishing a lot of rice ā grilled meat paired with chicken oil really makes you want to eat more. Yeah, I know itās not exactly healthy food, but sometimes you just canāt resist indulging in something unhealthy. Donāt you agree?
This is one of the downsides of having an office right across a mall: itās so easy to get tempted, especially when your officemates love hanging out at the mall or dining in different restaurants.
On the other hand, there are also advantages. If you need to buy something, itās just nearby ā no need to commute. Most importantly, you can run errands or shop quickly during breaktime since everything is so accessible.
Thatās why I really have to practice more self-control and not give in so easily to invitations, so I can save money. TPerks and Struggles When Your Office is Just Across the Mallhose are the pros and cons of working in an office thatās just a few steps away from the mall.
Thank you for reading and see you on my next blog. Cheers!

This is soo true! But, for us that is far from the city were malls were not often available, going to the mall is like heaven for some us! š So, that's our advantages, less expenses.
Youāre absolutely rightāif you live far from the mall, it feels like heaven. But honestly, itās actually better that youāre far away because it helps you save more.š
