21st Restaurant: Were We Satisfied?

Our eldest sister treated us to dinner on her birthday. Although she couldn’t be with us because she lives abroad, she still wanted us to celebrate her special day by having dinner.

Since my mom had already tried dining at this restaurant when it first opened, she suggested that we have dinner at 21st Restaurant. But the question is, were we satisfied with our dining experience? Let's find out!

When we arrived at the restaurant, it was already getting dark, so the lights were on. Honestly, I was already impressed by the entrance! I don't know the name of the plant they used, but it has long, hanging strands that add to its beauty. They also decorated it with lights, making the entrance even more attractive. I believe most guests would be impressed by this beautiful sight, too.

The ambiance was really nice, and I loved the atmosphere. But what about the other aspects of our dining experience?

When we arrived at the restaurant, it was still quiet, and we were their only customers. My mom knows how much I love taking pictures, so she also knows that I can suddenly disappear from her sight whenever I see something interesting to photograph. Haha! That was why she immediately told me to order our food first.

As I approached the counter, I noticed that the staff were all friendly and greeted us with smiles. My first impression was that they had a nice and welcoming team. So, I started looking through their menu and choosing what we wanted to eat.

However, things took an unexpected turn when I started placing our order. The waiter kept telling me, "Ma'am, that is not available today." I would choose another dish, only to hear the same response. I tried mentioning several other items on the menu, but many of them were also unavailable.

Honestly, I was so disappointed. It felt like my excitement had suddenly disappeared. You know that feeling when you see a particular dish and immediately crave it, only to find out that you can't order it? That was exactly how I felt! I was really looking forward to trying some of the food on their menu, but I ended up ordering dishes that we hadn't even planned to try.

Would you still feel excited about eating after an experience like that? Because, honestly, I didn't feel as enthusiastic anymore.

Still, we decided to stay instead of looking for another restaurant. The other options were quite far away, and I also had to consider my mom's condition because her knee tends to hurt when she walks too much. I didn't want her to experience more discomfort just because we needed to find another place to eat. So, we decided to continue with our dinner despite the disappointment.

While waiting for our food, I took the opportunity to look around the restaurant. That was when I noticed some digital art displayed in small frames. Actually, I only realized later that I hadn't taken a photo showing all the framed artworks hanging on the wall. I had photographed them individually instead. Haha!

However, if you zoom in the photo below, you can see that the artworks are displayed near the tables and chairs. Although they are small, they add a decorative touch to the restaurant's interior.

Finally, it was time to eat! Our food was served quite quickly, and we didn't have to wait long. That was a good thing, so we started eating right away.

Honestly, the food was too oily. You could even feel the oil on your lips with every bite. Still, I continued eating. My mom told me that the food tasted better when the restaurant had just opened. She said it was delicious back then. Well, maybe their chef has already resigned.

Because we were not satisfied with the food, we didn't feel like staying at the restaurant for long. To be fair, the ambiance was nice, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. However, when it comes to the food business, I believe good food should always come first. After all, the taste of the food is one of the main reasons customers return to a restaurant.

Well, we enjoyed the ambiance and appreciated the friendly staff, but the food was disappointing. A beautiful place and good service are important, but delicious food makes the dining experience complete. If a restaurant wants customers to keep coming back, serving good food should always be a priority.
