I think you're background turned out to suit you well in life, and you've ended up in Mexico of all places. I am lucky to be from a generation where hustling money as a kid was possible in the USA, but I think now even in the countryside people are a little scared of bureaucracy. But I would like to think there are still plenty of black-market opportunities for kids to mow yards and clear leaves from gutters, etc.
Srey-Yuu seems to have her heart set on a motorcycle or e-bike of some kind. She'll need at least $300 to $1,000, so hopefully by the time she can afford something, she'll be confident enough on two-wheels to be ready for it. I'd prefer she start with 50cc or an e-scooter, just so that super high speeds can't be reached during the learning period.
Yes, slow and easy wins the race... Not to mention teach her some mechanical skills (on top of the basic bike repair) to keep her engine in good shape. And the e-scooter would introduce her to the world of volts and amps, especially when she is faced with off-grid charging, which may be necessary in remote regions. (Not sure how frequent electric charging stations are in the Cardamom mountains.)
