You know what? I have a simple way of relieving stress—hmmm -taking pictures.

Did you know that one of the things I do whenever I feel stressed is to take pictures of things around me? It can be anything that catches my attention. Sometimes it’s a beautiful view, a random object, a tree, the sea, or even something very simple that I normally wouldn’t notice.
One of my favorite things to photograph is the scenery at night. I really love how different lights come together, especially when there is a moon, some trees, and the sea. For me, the combination is just perfect. There is something about nighttime that makes everything look a little different and more peaceful.
Look at the photo below:

I especially enjoy taking pictures when the moon is visible. The way the moonlight mixes with the lights around the area can make a simple place look beautiful. Sometimes I just stop for a while, look at the view, and take a few pictures. It may seem like a small thing, but somehow it helps me forget about stress for a moment.
Actually, I have been interested in taking pictures since I was a kid. Even before we had a Digital Camera, I already enjoyed taking pictures. I also remember that I was somehow the “official photographer” in our barangay. Haha! Whenever there was an event like a coronation night, graduation, fiesta, or even just a simple family photo, I was usually the one holding the camera.
I still remember those days because taking pictures was really something I enjoyed. I was always excited whenever someone asked me to take their photos. It felt nice knowing that I was able to capture memories for other people.
What makes it even more memorable was how some people would pay me after they claimed their pictures, especially when we delivered the printed photos to their homes. But instead of money, sometimes they would give us dried fish.
And honestly, we were still grateful. At that time, getting something to eat was already a big help. We would just be happy because at least we had something to cook and put on the table.
Looking back now, those simple moments are some of the memories I really treasure. I never thought that my simple hobby of taking pictures would become a little way of making memories for people in our community.
Those were really simple times, but somehow, they were also some of the happiest.
I think that is where my love for taking pictures started. It was never really about having the best camera or taking a perfect photo. I just enjoyed capturing.
As I got older, I realized that taking pictures is more than just a hobby for me. It also became one of the ways I relax. Whenever I feel stressed or my mind is too busy, I like to go outside, look around, and find something worth capturing.
Sometimes, I don't even share the pictures online. I just keep them on my phone. Then, after some time, I look back at them and remember where I was and what I was doing when I took them. In a way, those pictures become little memories that I can look back on.
For me, photography is not about having a very expensive camera or getting the perfect shot every time. It's about noticing the little things that we sometimes ignore because we are too busy with our daily lives.
A simple moon in the sky, the lights at night, the trees moving with the wind, or the reflection of lights on the sea can already be enough to make me stop and appreciate the moment.

So whenever you feel stressed, maybe try looking around you. You might find something beautiful in a place you usually don't notice.
Sometimes, we just need to slow down a little and appreciate the simple things around us.
Thank you dear hivers for taking the time to read. See on my next blog.
