Greetings everyone, we still experiencing an intense heat. This month of April is the official hot summer season, and I thought it all started last month. This morning, my activities was to visit our Farm in Barangay Punta Silum. I only visit this place once a week only and I can't do any visitation last day because of Holy week. It was 9 AM when I arrived at the place and as I observed the areas, the grass and some trees are already dried. I will also make a tour so that you can see the view of our Farm here in Barangay Punta Silum.
Its been many years since we already did not renovating our Coconut drier structures. This is important in some farmers here in the Province specially when they produced Copra. They put those coconuts here heated using coconut husks so that it can be easily to removed the coconut meat from the coconut shells. My Father told us to renovate this structures so that we can be abled to use this on the next coconut harvest seasons. There are lots of materials needed to construct this structures again just like round lumbers, bamboos, nails, plain sheets and sacks.
Our pig pen needs to renovate, we planned to buy pig on next month and it should must have pig pen were we can put our newly brought pig. This structure can occupied 1 pig and the floors is made of concrete and the fence are made of coconut planks. We decided to build this pig pen under those big manggoe trees so that the pigs will experienced cool place and shady areas. There are only few materials will be needed and use just like nails, plainsheets and planks.
Our coconut trees are having a big problem because of the intense heat happens here in the Province. Some of its leaves are already dried and falled down. The fruits are also affected and some of it are falled down even if it is not yet ready to harvest. Only few of this coconut trees are still not yet producing coconut fruits and if the heat will still happens for the next Month, this plants will be dried and withered.
It is very lucky for us to have this kind of big trees, it can keep our place cool and relaxing. Our plan is to plant more Trees here in the farm so that it can help to prevent Intense heat directly hit to the crops, vegetables and other valuable plants. Most of the trees can be seen and found here are molave trees, it can grow bigger and wider and it can help to have cool and shady place.
This tree is very pity and all of its leaves are already gone and falled to the ground. But this is very normal every summer season, when the rainy season came this trees will produced more leaves again. Some of its branches are already falled down and as for that I was having a tiring time gathering those dried branches use for firewood.
I also checked our Jackfruit trees and as I observed the trees, it is still okay. It grows under the vast coconut trees that is why it can easily dried and withered because it grows in the shady and cool places. There are lots of dried leaves scattered to the ground and the best thing for this is to make an organic fertilizer.
I also gathered this dried mahogany fruits, this is good for firewood also. Sometimes we used this for cooking foods and boiling water for coffee. I decided to gathered dried coconut palms and put in an empty sacks. It is good to have more firewood so that we can be abled to use instantly. Living in the Province is fun and enjoyable, we can seen many beautiful views in the areas.
