Small Community, Big Hearts: How 18 Households United in a Simple Thanksgiving Filled With Fun, Games and Gratitude

Hello everyone! I want to share with you a memorable thanksgiving celebration that we had in our small sitio. We are only 18 households in our place, so it’s easy for us to gather together as one big family. Even though we are just a small community, our thanksgiving turned out to be very special because of the unity and joy that we all shared.

Before the celebration officially started, we were divided into two groups the group 1 and group 2 family. We had also a thanksgiving service, it was our way of giving back the glory to God and showing gratitude for all the blessing He has given us. After the prayer, everyone was excited because lunch was waiting for us.

Each household prepared and brought food to share on the long table. Some cooked delicious food, dessert and drinks. What made our lunch extra special was the lechon. Since not everyone can provide a big dish like that, some families contributed money together to buy one whole lechon. When it we served the happiness of everyone was really visible and we enjoyed eating as one community. For me, it was a beautiful example of cooperation and unity.

After lunch our program started. This was one of the most exciting parts of the celebration because it was filled with fun, laughter and entertainment. We had parlor games that everyone both kids and adults happily joined. The laughter and cheers curing the games filled the whole Sitio and you could see how much everyone was enjoying the moment.

As for the prize, I personally took the responsibility of soliciting from my friends and former coworkers. I also asked support from my friends who owned Agri supply stores, where we usually buy our farm needs since almost everyone in our sitio are farmers.

Looking back, what I really realized is that happiness doesn’t depend on how big the community and grand the celebration is. Our Sitio may be small, but the unity, support and participation of everyone made the thanksgiving truly memorable. It wasn’t just about the food the games or the prize- it was about the bond we strengthened as neighbors who treat each other like family.

Sometimes we think we need a lot of things to celebrate but our thanksgiving reminded me that when there is cooperation, love and joy in the community, even simple gatherings can feel like the grandest occasion.

Here in our community, no one needs to be called to join the parlor games, it has become almost mandatory because everyone is so willing and excited. The laughter cheers, and participation make the games livelier, showing how much we enjoy being united in simple fun.
