I Made Simple and Delicious Homemade Jackfruit Candy Jam from My Backyard Tree and Shared its Sweetness with Everyone Around Me

Hello everyone! I hope you’re all doing fine today. I just want to share a simple story that happened yesterday. It’s not a special event, but it made my day brighter and gave me a warm feeling inside.

After lunch, I decided to go outside and check our backyard. We have a jackfruit tree there and I’ve been keeping an eye on one big fruit for days.

That day, I went closer an checked it. I touched it, smelled it, and smiled – it’s ripe! I felt so happy and excited because jackfruit is one of my favorites. So, I picked the fruit right away and brought in our house.

I started slicing it slowly. The smell was so fresh and sweet! It made me more excited to do something with it. I gave some of the fruit to my niece for their nutrition month celebration. The rest of it I decided to turn into jackfruit jam, a sweet treat I haven’t made in a long time.

I sliced the jackfruit into smaller pieces so it would faster and easier. Then I gathered the ingredients I needed:
Fresh jackfruit slices
White sugar
Condensed Milk

Its simple, right? That’s what I LOVE ABOUT IT. You don’t need many ingredients to make something yummy. I also prepare Bread for later and coffee, to enjoy with the finished jam.

I started by boiling some water in a pot. When it was boiling, I added sugar and stirred for about 3 minutes. Then I added the jackfruit slices.

The smell filled the kitchen, and I loved it! I let it cook for about 20 minutes, stirring from time to time until the jackfruit become soft. Then I added the condensed milk and kept stirring. The mixture started to get thick and sticky, and I knew, this is it, my jackfruit jam is ready!

I let it cool first so it wouldn’t spoil. I transferred the jam into different small containers. One for my in-laws, another for my sister and of course one for us, in our home. It’s our practice to always share when we cook something, it makes the food taste even better knowing others will enjoy it too.

Finally, I made coffee, got some bread and spread the jackfruit jam on it. I sat down with my child and my niece. We enjoyed our simple snack while chatting and laughing. We do bond of coffee and bread with jackfruit jam with my daughter and niece. It was such a peaceful and happy moment. No stress, no rush and just simple joy at home.

While making this jam, I realized that happiness can really be found in the smallest things. We don’t always need big adventures. Sometimes, all we need is a ripe fruit from the backyard, the smell of something cooking in the kitchen. The act of sharing with family and a warm cup of coffee with loved ones.

I felt thankful for the jackfruit, For my kitchen, for my family and for days like this.

I hope you also find simple joys in your daily life. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story.

Let’s keep sharing love, even in small ways. ❤️

Aya and I loves langka or jackfruit. Enjoy your food together 🥰

That's nice that Aya loves langka. Langka is so delicious, When it's in season people often overlooked it but its good to make a jam or candy so that we can preserve it and spread it to bread.

This post made me happy!

Does it keep for long or best eaten fresh? It would be yummy in some kind of pastry too. Yum.

When we also have some jackfruit, we also cook it with a lot of sugar. The kitchen literally smells so good while cooking! We also put it in bread (as a jam) but sometimes we make it as our dessert. It’s perfect and sweet. 😄
