From Fun Hobby to Blooming Business: How My Small Flower Bouquet Brings Extra Income and Smiles to Every Occasion

Hello everyone! I decided to make some flower bouquets. At first, it was just for fun, but I also thought that it could be a way to create something nice to sell. Here on the farm, I noticed that no one is doing this kind of business yet. So, why not try? Since my niece was staying with us. I thought it would be a good way for her to have an extra income and add to her school allowance.

We prepared all the materials we needed:
Fuzzy wire in different colors
Wrapping paper
Scotch tape
Styrofoam
Scissors
Glue gun
Ribbon

I started by organizing everything on the floor so it would be easy to make the bouquets. This was our first time, so I knew it would be trial and error. My niece was excited to learn and I was happy to guide her step by step.

We first made the bouquet using the fuzzy wire to hold the flowers in place. Then, we wrapped it with colorful wrapping paper and tied it with ribbon. The vase arrangement was a but tricker because we needed to cut the Styrofoam and fit it inside the vase to hold the flowers upright. But after a few adjustments, we managed to make it look nice.

When we finished, my niece was so proud of our work. She brought the bouquet to her school and sold it for 150 pesos. The vase arrangement, she sold for 200 pesos. I was surprised because soon after, she already had more orders from her classmates and friends. Even if our work is not yet perfect, it’s already helping her earn money for school. This small business is giving her both experience and confidence.

I believe that as we practice more, our bouquets will look even better. We are already thinking of new design and ideas to make them more attractive for customers. Who knows, maybe one day this small business could grow into something bigger.

What makes me even happier is that this activity keeps my niece away from spending too much time on gadgets. Instead, she is using her creativity, learning new skills, and having fun. I can see how proud she is whenever someone buys what she made with her own hands.

This simple Sunday hobby turned into something more meaningful, a bonding moment for us, a way to earn a little extra, and a chance to inspire my niece to use her talents, Sometimes, the best opportunities start from small and simple ideas.

I also like arts and flower arrangement before like fresh flowers but because of busy life, work and motherhood, I stopped doing it. It felt like I was stagnant. Now, I will make it a fun activity for us. It’s a way to enjoy my hobby again.
