A Celebration of Gratitude, Family Traditions and the Joy of Sharing Gifts with Loved Ones

Pink and Yellow Playful Travel Scrapbook (1).png

At first, it felt like just another family gathering. We don’t plan, but as the day went on, I slowly realized how meaningful it was. It reminded me that special moments are often found in ordinary days, when we simply choose to be present with the people who matter.

Being with my husband’s family always teaches me something about love and acceptance. Like any family, we have differences and misunderstandings. There are moments of silence, moments of tension and moments when opinions don’t meet. But gatherings like this show me that family is not about being perfect with one another, it is about choosing to stay, forgive and bond despite everything.

One of the moments I truly enjoyed was our gifts exchange. Before giving the presents, we described the person whose name we picked based on their attitude and personality at home. Some descriptions were funny some were touching but all were honest. It made me realized how deeply we observe and understand each other, eve in simple, everyday interactions.

We were blessed with an abundance of food that day. Our farm harvest was amazing and abundant last year. And my husband prepared everything with care. As I looked at the table filled with food, lechon, drinks and I felt a sense of gratitude. It wasn’t just about having plenty toe at but about being complete and sharing the blessing together.

The parlor games brought even more joy. I clearly remember my mother-in-law saying it was the first time she felt that happy playing games. She was very game and even the adult joined with excitement, because there’s a big prize especially cash. Seeing her enjoy herself with my father-in-law I realized that the joy ahs no age.

I also realized how much I love sharing gifts and prizes. In my own simple way, it allows me to give and share happiness even through small things.

At the end of the day, I understood that family is not measured by how perfect our relationships are, but by how we choose to come together, again and again. Thank you for reading my story. The lead photo as edited in Canva.
