Today, we decided to do coconut harvesting here at the farm. Every two months, we do harvesting and we really hope that we can get lots of coconuts to be sell by next day. It takes two or three days before we finished coconut harvesting. Luckily it is Sunday today and I have lots of vacant time today. This morning at exactly 7 early in the morning when we continued to gathered those coconuts. Those hired men was doing their job getting those coconuts at the top last day and it takes two days before they finally finished doing it. Now, the only thing we did is to gathered it in one place so it can easily hauled by the hauler.

Everytime when we do coconut harvesting, we also checked those coconut trees if there are coconuts forgot to harvest. My Father also went there and gladly only coconut tree does not harvested the coconuts, Those hired men forgot to climb it. Dry coconut leaves are also cut and put at the stems so it will decomposed and used as an organic fertilizer. It is a good way so that coconut trees will not easily dried even if there is an intense heat happens here. As we checked and counted the coconuts that can already harvested, we found out that most of it are ready to harvest.

Dry coconut palm are also separated so we can used it as firewoods here. Aside of that, I also planned to sell it at the Supermarket in bunch. Luckily I have already costumers who's ready to buy it everytime when I sell. I carefully placed it near at the house so I can easily get it everytime when I am going to used for cooking the food for our meals.

We also planted almost hundreds of young coconuts here and some of it are already grows in stabled conditions. We have lots of space here at the farm that is why My Father was decided to developed it into a farm place where young coconut plants located.

But we did not sell all of the coconuts in pieces, we decided to produced copra half of the coconuts we harvested. It is very perfect now-a-days because we experienced intense heat perfect to dry and exposed those coconuts under the Sun. As I checked it, some of it are turned into brown color and and perfect to removed the coconut meat.

Coconut shells are put in one place because we will produced it into charcoal using big charcoal oven after we do harvesting the coconuts. Expectedly we will spent more days here at the farm until we finally finished producing and selling the copra and some pieces of coconuts. This one of our family source of income here and we are very lucky to have this kind of family income.

My Mother and Young Sister also help removing those coconut meat and we decided to do it very early while there still no intense heat happens. We dried it here in this open areas and the copra we got was placed at the big sack so we can carried it at our house. It will expectedly takes few days before we completely finished it while my Father was also busy gathering the rest of the coconuts.

Everytime when we do coconut harvesting, eating buko fruits wont be forgotten. We can only eat buko fruits everytime when harvesting because we asked the hired men to get some. A great day here at the farm and being productive helps in our daily lives.

Until next post, have a nice day to all of us.

It’s really cool that your family has hundreds of coconut trees in the orchard.

It must take quite a lot of time to harvest and gather all the coconuts. Have a great weekend!
